It depends. How do we know we have souls?
The "thing that makes us feel we are there" could simply be the product of our brains and brain chemistry, which causes us to "feel" all sorts of things (including the sense that we are "there").

Our soul is not permanent like our spirit. This too, like our physical body, will die after it's connection to the body is severed. But this death is a welcoming event and something not to fear. The dissolution of the soul is a natural course that won't really give the fear of dying but rather an experience of expanding awareness - a feeling of reconnecting to the spiritual world. However, there are some cases where the soul would hang on because of strong attachment to the physical plane. Could be unfinished business, inexplicable hatred, or sadness. The dead of the soul is awakening of the spirit. I have many things to say but your question is really limited on the status of the soul after physical death.

Although there is no absolute proof that a soul exists, much less that it continues without the body after death, I believe, and so do many people of many different religions throuhgout the World that dying is like going on vacation, only "Heaven", a place without physical constraints, is our real life and what we do here is only a learning experience. Heaven is the place we go to evaluate our most recent lifetime, rest, be close to God and prepare for the next incarnation. If we have some things that we did which were very hurtful to others in in this life, and we did not seek their individual forgiveness, we may be required to spend some time having our soul purged in a very scary place, which can be experienced as unbearably hot, while we are purging crimes of passion, or very cold, while we are purging crimes of compassionlessness. While this process feels like eternity, in reality, we do eventually cleanse and emerge from it to have our vacation in Heaven and return to Earth in a new body, ready to continue learning. It's as if Heaven is our Home where we come to relax and regroup after a hard day at school and Earth is the University where our soul learns and grows and gets closer to God. Only the most evil people, like Hitler, may his name be erased, are blotted out forever by God---and even they do not suffer for eternity, they simply cease to exist so that they cannot hurt anyone anymore. Nothing is forever, therefore there is no such thing as eternal damnation. What I have just outlined are the basic beliefs of religious Jews. We do not believe in prosceltyzing our religion to others. Therefore, please, take it or leave it---it's not at all necessary, or even desirable, for you to convert to Judaism unless you have a very powerful call to do so. It's your life and nothing terrible is going to happen to you if you don't believe like I do other than that you will still have the experiences I outlined. Unless you do something really bad though, you won't have to spend any time in the Hellish after death purging places no matter what you believe. In addition to these being the basic beliefs of religious Jews, very similar beliefs are also held by Hinduism, Islam, Wicca and other Neo-Pagan religions, certain Buddhists who do believe in reincarantion (such as the Tibetan Buddhists), and a small minority of esoteric Christians.

Actually we are the living souls while still living. after our death, our spirit will be under the care of God until the judgment time to come for us to be judge of the sins we have committed, then when you will not be included on the sinners, you will be brought to heaven with God for eternal life

That depends on the kind of life you have lived here on Earth. If you lived a good life, your soul goes north. If you lived a bad life, your soul goes south.

It is best put as "we are asleep". When we sleep, we cannot feel that we are there.
In many places when Jesus brought dead people back to life, He said, the dead were only sleeping.
So its an elongated sleep, and all will one day arise and has to give their account of their life on earth to God.

your soul will meet with the judge of the universe to see if you have enough good to be freed from eternal separation. Trust me, you won't. Trust Jesus, he already paid for your pardon, but you must die to yourself and live for him. Best wishes

1) You trusted Jesus in this life, and when you die, your soul goes to the eternal presence of God; OR
2) In this life, you rejected jesus, so when you die, your rejection of him will continue for all eternity.
That's the nicest way I can put it.
