So, a lot of American’s do not support the war in Iraq… that is a given. But do all American’s support our troops? We are out here doing what we are told to do, because we promised we would. The war on terrorism is just that, it is a war. We soldiers are not over here on vacation, we are fighting every day, we are away from our families for a year at a time, and the conditions suck! We loose lives all the time in fact I lost a good friend 2 weeks ago. Whether you believe it or not we are doing great things over here, and we are protecting The U.S.A. So, if you do not support the troops in Iraq… why not?!

Referndor, if you think the war is over in Iraq, how about you pick up a weapon and go on patrols with my guys tonight. When the bullets start flying, tell me the war is over.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I supported the war in the early stages. Based on what we know today I wish we had never gone to Iraq. But I support the military 110% and I do know that you guys are doing a lot of positive things despite the media's insistence on focusing on the negative. I wish it ends soon but until then I wish you guys all the best.

No Chemical Weapons ? No Nuclear Weapons ?, When did Iraqis ever actually set out to attack the 1st World. Then again what right do we have just to march on someone elses country without actually having a good reason. Little wonder then the iraqs attack us, its there country wouldnt we do exactly the same. I think we just need to leave well alone and spend all that money on something a little more constructive. Like new schools and building better housing and facilities for people in our own countries.

As for the troops, you always get the full support of the people, but protecting the american way of life ?? I honestly dont know how long the troops and people can carry on beleiving that is totally true.

I can say that Iraq has alot of oil and would make an excellent military base for the US in the middle east from a strategic point of view, I do find it strange that we havent done the same with other african countries that have no oil reserves, in which governments commit genocide on there people and we sit around and do nothing.

Apologies for being slightly sceptical but I know alot of people feel the same way. Although the troops I beleive do have the peoples full support the politicians do not. Aftedr all they would think twice if they were on the front line!!!!

I am from Australia, and I have to give the press over here some credit for never saying anything bad about our soldiers in Iraq.

We have never supported this war, but I think that we have always supported our troops. While you can make the argument that people choose to go into the Army (and I hear that there is less choice in America, if you are poor etc) and therefore choose to be in needless conflicts, I don't believe that to be the case. No one wants to fight an unneccessary war - like you say, away from their homes and families.

Everyone in Iraq at the moment deserves our warm thoughts, and hopes that they come home (or can stay in their homeland) safely.

Hey there...

There was an article in the British press this morning - Prince Harry (son of Charles and Diana) is deploying with his unit within the next couple of months. Good for him! He put it something like, "I'm not going to sit at home on my **** while our boys are out there".

So the grandson of our Head of State is serving (active duty) just like his uncle and grandfather. Meanwhile, we all sit around and say how much we support the troops. It's a lot of hot air, or so it seems to me. How about some REAL support?

I think it's time for the children and grandchildren of the US President, VP and members of the Senate and Congress (and Tony Blair's oldest son) to step up to the plate. If there is a lack of support, it is because so few Americans are making the sacrifices that you guys and your families are. At the very least, they could volunteer to relieve you so you (I include in that term my own cousin) can have a break between tours.

What do you think?

I certainly support the troops.I do not support the war.The war was sold to the Congress and the people largely on the excuse that Iraq possesed weapons of mass destruction. The weapons weren't to be found. As with Vietnam,Our allies in NATO advised the president not to invade. The Congress authorized him to do the invasion, and he did. After 4 years Iraq is in a civil war.Last November the voters in the USA turned over the control of the Congress to what the President called the party of cut and run,The Democrats!!The voters performed the exit strategy. The Democrats have promised a new direction in Iraq. That direction isOUT!! You will be returning home soon.Thank you for your service to our country.

I completely disagree, I help our troops...IN COMING living house. it incredibly is time they stopped loss of existence for financial and face-saving purposes and got here decrease back, prefferably no longer in physique bags. I even have infinite close acquaintances in the army and all have stated to me: "This become the biggest mistake i've got ever made." you could help somebody for BEING A SOLDIER, yet no longer accept as true with what they do UPON ORDERS. i individually have not got the character or will to be a soldier. i might shout suitable decrease back at a Drill Sergeant and extra effective than in all threat get discharged in the 1st week. My courageous acquaintances who've served foreign places? extra potential to them. yet all of them have stated that further and extra human beings, mutually as being stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan, are thinking that this conflict become a mistake. for 2 necessary motives: a million.) you could't attack an theory! Terrorism is a non-personified theory! putting forward conflict on an theory is in basic terms futile and idiotic. 2.) What got here approximately to the WMDs?

I think that the war has gone on too long...I think there may be better ways to achieving our goals.

But I support the troops all the way. The soldiers just follow the orders, they don't make 'em.

Are you really a soldier? If so, thank you for what you do. Thanks for your sacrifice.

Yes, I support you and your mission. I realize that I as a civilian can not possibly understand everthing regarding this war, but I love my country and appreciate those who are fighting for it. Keep posting about the good you are doing. Blessings to you, and wishing you a safe and quick return. TRUTH.

Of course I support the troops. I can't imagine how difficult it is for you. I appreciate you doing your duty. This is a Democracy that you are defending. In a free country people are allowed to voice their opinions. There are radicals, on both sides of this issue, and you should not let them bother you, because they are irrelevant. Take care of each other over there.

Yes, I do. And yes, I most definitely do!

I believe you will find, friend, that most Americans support you AND your mission. It's just that "squeaky wheel" thing, and the fact that the media just has to try and stir stuff up to keep the airwaves rockin' 24/7. The "silent majority" isn't heard from as much as they should be.
