I have worked sales for consignment companies and only ever recieved a day rate or sale rate. At the sale we didn't have a specific horse or group of horses we were responsible for prepping and showing - everyone touched every horse. It's possible that farms that sell their own stock give employees a bonus for a good sale, but I have not heard of it.

some of my friends that have worked for some smaller consignments with only 3 or 4 people showing have received a bonus, that was back when the Keeneland July sale was still up and running. I've also heard of a few smaller farms giving out a .5 or 1% commission to employees, who also go over to the sales with the consignment.

Stable staff get no commission on sold horses....they only get tips from owners...but they do get percentages of horses winnings, pooled from their yards.

They are not entitled to any comission, though most owners/trainers will give something to the lad/lass leading the horse up if it sells well.
