My close friend is atheist and says "it's just lights out", yes like what you said.
I refuse to believe that. (Christian)
Einstein said "energy cannot be destroyed, it can only change form" and we are energy.
And, too many things prove true in the Bible not to believe.

Well, I was reading an interesting article by Sam Harris about a Psychiatrist who has found 20 cases that suggest re-incarnation, and statistically it is unlikely that it is simply coincidence. I haven't read the actual work by the Psychiatrist, but I think it is a legitimate possibility. Unlike other Atheists, I don't want to make any assertions about what happens after death, though my rationality tells me the most likely to follow is simply nonexistence.

You can believe everything under the Sun my theist friend, so to your question "what do you believe" may result different opinions from different assumptions.

What happens when a person dies is very different on what you want to believe.

Here's my story: I was on a subway one day on my way to school, and a boy my age next to me sneezed. I said, "Bless you". He said, "Um, yeah. Thanks. I'm atheist." So I was like "oh, my bad." So we started getting into deeper conversation, then he asked me what I would think would happen after death. I said, "I will go to heaven, and be with God eternally." He started laughing and said, "After my death, my body will decompose into the ground, fertilizing the soil, and I will grow into a tall, beautiful tree." And I said, "Good, and after you rot and turn into a tree, they might cut you down and print the bible on you."
