Why is it that i see stupid questions asked like "Im fatter than my sister,what do i do" and people answer by the hundreds,but when i ask a question that is relevant to the present political situation in our world,i get 4 or 5 answers? Thank you to the people who did answer but where is everyone else? Cant handle the truth?

You hit it right on the head. People are both uneducated and cannot handle the truth. Any question or answer for that matter that challenges the way they look at the world has to be studiously ignored. The people in power know this and that is why this country is in the sorry state it is.

Some questions take more thought and understanding to answer. Those questions also require a knowledge of the issues, and not everyone is current on all events.
More people can relate to simplistic questions, like the fat sister question, and are more likely to answer those questions.

Simple minds answer the simple question, advanced minds answer the tougher questions. It shows something, the ratio of simple minds to advanced minds. Myself if I get one good answer out of two I think I have ask a good question. Sometimes I am amazed and I will get several good answers and that makes it harder to pick the best.

They just dont know is all probably, most people are a little stupid. Also, Yahoo Answers isnt exactly a forum of great political minds, it's like a community college for politics.

Questions that do not call for thoughtfulness or study are easier.People are basically mentally lazy and do not like their own little private worlds disturbed by looking and thinking about truly important issues.

You should count yourself lucky. Quality is more important than quantity on here. Just put Bush, or some other controversial figures name, in your question. If you're looking for quantity that is.
