The image of God, in which we have been made, consists of such things as personality, choice, emotions, a moral sense of right and wrong, and creativity. The Bible does not teach that the image of God has anything to do with a physical image.

The meaning of the verse on the bible about the creation of man on the image of God is this:
a man should be Godly. God should b e the guide of man while living on earth. He should not commit sin b y stealing, killing and many other sins prohibited by God to a man to do.They should not follow the dictates of satan from sinning. When Eve committed sin by not obeying God in prohibiting her ab out the tree of knowledge, she is no longer following the image of God and that is why God punished Eve for her own doings. It was not Adam who actually committed sin, he was only induced by Eve to commit sin, however both of them were given punishment

The reality, the existence, of what we label, "God", does not create in physical terms, but we can and do form physical matter by our use of the one mind...God's mind. In this way, though it seems contradictory, God is within the particles that make up physicality...Someone said, "God knows every sparrow that falls, because God IS every sparrow that falls."
God, being invisible, and formless, self-existent, and through and within and as, all there is, creates through an act upon itself, since nothing but God exists. Thus, we are part of God, but the truth of that statement is far more compelling than it seems at face value. We are one with whatever God actually is.

Good Answer. in Genesis1: 28-29. So lets examine the context of man been created in the image of God. It strikes one that immediately after Gods declaration to "make man in Gods image" that the interpretation of verse 28 is immediately given in verse 29. Mankind, both male & female are to rule over God's creation. So the scripture gives the interpretation of the meaning of being made in Gods image itself. To be made in Gods image means that man is made to rule just as God rules. Just as God is King over all, man is made to be king over God's creatures on earth. So while mankind is given dominion & rule, mankind has been given delegated authority under God himself. It is important to understand this if we are to know our role in God's world. Rulership requires great wisdom and responsibility.
We have seen that to be made in God's image is to be a king and ruler over Gods creation under God. Now let us see how the bible develops this theme of being made in the image of God. We now find ourselves outside of God's kingdom (garden of Eden). We are fallen and exiled, however broken that image might be, we still have the image of God in us. But in God's plan of salvation He plans to restore that broken image of God in us. He sends one like Adam again into the world. One who is truly human, His name is Jesus. This Jesus is portrayed as being the expressed image of God in 1 Colossians vs15. "He is the image of the invisible God." He has taken on flesh to show us the true image of God in human form.
