Bill Gates is the richest man that we know about, because of the Taxation & disclosure laws in the USA. He will not be the actual wealthiest person in the world. That person can only be guessed at. There will be richer men in China and Russia, maybe some in the Arab countries, you just don't know who they are.
Bill Gates plans to give away 95% of his wealth before he retires and live on a paltry $500 million U.S. or so. Nice bloke.
