My friends and I are travelling to LA during spring break and we would like to know the areas for a group of college kids (mostly girls) to avoid. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We will be mostly in the Hollywood area: Walk of Fame, etc. We will be coming in by train and riding the bus or metro most of the time.

Compton, Watts, some of Long Beach and most of South Los Angeles (South Central)

You didn't say what City you'll be Staying in, that's important. Also, do you know the areas or points of interests where you want to go? Will you be driving a lot? Just be safe, if you get lost, don't be afraid to ask for directions (mainly other girls or Police)

Lastly, just use your common sense. I've lived in L.A. most of my life, and I know it like the back of my hand. Big Place, very interesting. If you have any more questions, or want some inside tips, E-mail me....

Have fun!

dont go out anywhere downtown at night n the streets if your ALL girls, and dont go to the outskirts of the fashion district by your self either[lots of prostitutes and homeless people]. and manly stay out of the area near LAX. basically just be careful. its a big city, and just like any where else, use common sense, and be smart, and dont walk around at night. i would recommend sense your girls going to rodeo drive, which not right near Hollywood, but pretty close,[just tell the cab driver to go to rodeo drive] and you have a good chance of seeing a celeb. whats also fun is to go to the Kodak theater. there is a sushi restaurant in the little plaza there that is amazing. HAVE FUN!

What are you looking to do? If it's the beach, I recommend Santa Monica. You've also got the 3rd Street Galleria there.

There's always Universal City Walk - fun time.

Most places that are 'touristy' are ok.
