I think the Bible speaks for itself.
Hebrews 11:31: By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.

Well, the letter was written to the Hebrews, i.e. those who came from the Jewish Faith. Basically, the eleventh chapter emphasizes that we are no longer "under the law" but have been held to the higher standard . . . faith.
The chapter makes clear the importance of faith as the more important focus of a Christian, rather than merely the law. Although the law was not eliminated, the spirit of the law, rather than the "letter of the law" became the new standard.
Many new Christians that came from the Jewish faith still held the law in highest regard. The eleventh chapter of Hebrews appears directed at the "Judaizers."

Faith, he is telling you that you can not please God without faith, and the men in chapter 11 had faith and they did not see the end of days , but you and me will! Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Did you catch that it is a SUBSTANCE>
