It is the History of God interacting with man and setting up the earth and kingdoms and about his Savior that would come into the world and save us from death and give us eternal life. Go read from John to the end of the Book and you will get the whole picture and then go read all the rest, you get the old testament revealed in about 150 pages from John to the end. And then when you read the old testament it will no longer be concealed but revealed.

You should read the bible in order to know its contents and not to read only, you must understand the wordings so that you will be ignorant about the existence of God and to know his teachings. There is nothing wrong about reading the bible. It is for your own good
