Last year I met a wonderful girl during a trip abroad: she makes me want to write poems every time I think of her, paint her beauty in my dreams, invent a new recipe with her name... Perhaps it's just a bad case of infatuation but I have only felt like this a couple of times in my life. We have kept in touch via chat and unless I'm a complete psychological cripple I think she likes me, in a friendly sweet sweet kind of way.

I have refrained from any romantic move because in all cold logic our lives are almost hopelessly set apart: my business ties me to the US, she's just graduated and started in her first job, her family and friends are where she lives and belongs.

Yet my heart tells me a different story - I have dated from one horizon to the other and I feel deep down that she is truly special and I wouldn't like to just keep silent and see her disappear from my life, even if it means reaching to the stars to be with her.

What should I do?

Consider that the mortality rate poor and the hardships great - I very much doubt that I would have survived those periods from 1550s thru the mid 1600s. Most people died very young. Only the hardest of men survived and married many women in sucession since the women would succumb to illnesses, most did not survive child birth since there were no doctors nor midwives and some were murdered for their fortunes. Food was scarce and work was endless. No - I would not have done well. I am quite satisfied with having the very good fortune to be born here in the USA during this period in history.

Oh God what a drama--I think the long distance thing is a crutch for you--you don't want a local because it means you have to see her a lot and work on the relationship everyday---more than a chat line gal---and what;s wrong with her--can't she find a guy in her neck of the woods...or is she stroking you??? God get a grip and man up---this is a pitiful drama. I am not in the mood today for sappy drippy stories like yours. Go grab a hottie in the neighborhood bar--have some real fun for a while---eeesch!!

ask her on chat that if you travel those thousands of miles to end up where she is at, would she meet you. (make sure you have the money, first). if she says no, or makes an excuse for you not to, then, honey, she doesn't love you. but remember, it is possible that plans like this can be arranged.

You are a hopeless romantic. Yet you are in love. How can you let her slip from you?? In your heart you will always yearn for her, so any girl you get will never meet up to her. Follow your heart.
