The answer is so simple you couldn't imagine! The reason why people are so fat or overweight is so simple and preventative you seriously couldn't imagine! take it from experience cause I lost 80 pounds!
Well Let's begin!!!
1. The first most common error in gaining weight isn't just what you eat BUT HOW YOU EAT!!! Eating too fast and large portions doesn't allow the body to detect that you been eating! so with this kind of bad habit you end up putting too much in your stomach then how much you need!
2. Eating later then 6:30 at night will only make the food 10 times more spoiled, nasty and disgusting in your stomach then it already is simply because when you go to sleep the body doesn't process the food over night until after you wake up because it just keeps it inside! You know how food sometimes can be spoiled when you accidently leave it out of the fridge over night! Imagine how it is when it's left over in your stomach!
3 And last but not least! THERE WILL NEVER BE ANYTHING AS GOOD, AS CLEAN AND AS HEALTHY AS WATER AS GOD AS MY WITNESS!!! IT IS SCIENTIFICLY PROVEN THAT THE SENSE OF HUNGER IS IDENTICAL TO THE SENSE OF THIRST! Majority of the time most people when they think they feel hungry they start eating! The only proven way to see if you are really hungry is first drink a large glass of water, if after half an hour you don't feel hungry then you were never hungry but only thirsty! Try to understand that just like the planet that we live on happens to be at least 75% water so is our bodies supposed to be 75% water in order to keeps us Energetic and Hydrated rather then tired,lazy and dehydrated!!!

Sounds like your ex isn't so ex...
There is no magic weight-loss pill, supplement, fad diet, or juice. The ONLY way to lose weight is to consume less calories than you burn. Brad Pitt didn’t get cut for Fight Club by drinking green tea, and you won’t either.
Walk for 30 minutes every day, including weekends, Mondays, and Fridays. Do at least 30 minutes of weight training each week. Do 60 minutes of additional, higher intensity cardio each week.
Cut back on the foods you eat with high fat and high sugar content. Eat only single servings (read the label) with less than 3 grams trans fat and 3 grams sugars. Throw out all of your ice cream, chips, cookies, cheese, fried foods, bacon, and candy.
Eat breakfast, and eat five small meals per day instead of three big meals. Don’t starve yourself during the day, but if you don't wake up famished, then you ate too much the day before. Stop eating at least two hours before you go to bed.
Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Turn off the TV and the computer. Sleep is vitally important.
Don't consume alcohol—alcohol is nothing more than empty calories with no nutritional value. Some people will argue that alcohol has some health benefits when consumed in moderation—I’m not debating that—but we’re talking about weight loss here. Lay off the booze if you want to lose the fat.
Drink lots of water, then drink more. Not tea, not Gatorade, not milk. Water. If your urine isn’t almost clear, you need to drink more water.

Try a liquid diet. Drink a milk a veggie( ie v8) a jucie every day ,or your body will gain weight when you go on solid foods. Or try a campbells soup diet. Try most of the soups under 1.30 per can. They will feed you, and not over feed you. This for three months will make a difference. NO EXTRAS LIKE BREAD ECT!!! try it, and it will work. The liquid will work faster, but you will feel hunger.

i must say i am Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better. I see that the pirate theme
is back!
While I was in Disney World, I got a chance to ride the new revamped Pirates of the
Carribean (sp?). It was really cool how they worked Captain Jack Sparrow into the ride. They
even had a guy dressed up as him outside the ride giving tips on how to be a pirate. The
kids seem to love that character!

emm,,your ex is very annoying right?dont worry,i will share some tip with you.before this,i even loose 10kg within 1month only.
u should have excercise every day,n u must put an effort on it.do it continuosly.try to have a fun when ur r doing exercise.no need to have heavy excercise,i suggest do jogging n cycling is good enough.but,as i say,continuosly is a key of ur succes.then,dont eat untill u r hungry.dont eat a lot to fullfill your appetide.stop eating before u full =)..try your best,i hope can hear something good from u..(",)

I've also been going wat your going throught, and trust me I've been pouring myself into books and interent facts most of the time... but I will tell you this there is a pyrimd not the bread fruits.. watever.. its wat your supposed to do.. ok one when you lose weight your calorie count decreases times your weight by seven and you'll get your cal. intake .. so if your 170 lbs.. then your intake should be 1,190.. ok now i will tell you the most helpful tool.. I did it and i've lose a total of 20 lbs so far..

1. This is the 200 cal only.. that means your fats.. Like mayo, and toppings.. fat stuff.. lol duh

4. This is your fruit and veggies.. 2 fruit and two veggies...
Remember eat the serving on the bags of the food product no over doing it..
I'll give you an example of a daily meal day for this.
Breakfeast:
Glass of milk and oats.... check 2 boxes.. one on whole grains and one on protein.. looks like this:

lxl l_l whole grains
lxl l_l l_l protein
l_l l_l l_l l_l fruits and veggies
ok Lunch say you have a tuna and mayo sandwhich.. (tuna is good for you remember that) and a mini can or package of veggies... also a bannana, somkind of fruit.. so check your boxes.. one for fat (plus make sure you write down how much cal.. 1 tbl of hemans lowfat mayo is 45, regular is 90.. so if you choose the regular then you will have 110 cal.. for fat) check 2 for fruits and veggies.. and one whole grain.. (if making a sandwhich i prefer you use wheat.. still good. and one for protien which is your tuna.
so it will look like this:
lxl 200 fats -90 110.. left
lxl lxl whole grains
lxl lxl l_l protein
lxl lxl l_l l_l fruits and veggies
now supper say you had turkey (recommened jennie-o's skinless-bonless turkey, soooo good! if you would like the recipe email me at ginagirl2506@yahoo.com.. ok moving one.. and some hmmmm some kind of veg.. like canned corn.. or green beans wast ever you like... so you mark your boxes one protien and one veg

Now you have one fruit left.. you can have it with your supper, or make a nice smootie to snack on later when hungry!

Plus exercise every other day, drink lots of water also, and don't eat after 9:00pm.. Also do crunches everyother day... Dont exersice everyday, b/c your muscles need to regain strength... so exercise everyother day, and use the pyrimid..
