The question is based on a false premise out of the gate. ExxonMobil had no such internal strategy memo directing skeptic climate scientists - or anybody, for that matter - to "reposition global warming as theory rather than fact", nor did the Western Fuels Association, which is who nearly all other enviro-activists try to blame. Get the real facts about the origins and people surrounding that oddball phrase, and you will readily see the question should have been reworded more accurately as "Are Creationists trying to do to Evolution what 'Big Green' tries to do to global warming?"

Well. Your question is kind of silly. Evolution is just a guess. and not a very good one. I would see more of a comparison between debating global warming, and debating evolution if it was hot already when mankind came into existence, and we said, "perhaps someone mistreated the environment, and it made a hole in the o-zone layer and that caused global warming. Evolution IS a theory. And therefore can not be repositioned as a theory rather than fact.

How does an Exxon memo have anything to do with a century (plus) year old Creation/Evolution debate?
