is it hot, red, or swollen? if not the "puss" you see is normal it's your body trying to remove a foreign object. as long as it's not hot, red, or swollen then you are fine.. take a aspirin a day if you can it will help keeping it from getting infected (and help your heart!) and keep it clean and dry it will be fine!

Puss indicates infection. If you had them pierced a week ago it should have healed by now. If you dont want to go for a doctor visit you could buy an over the counter antiseptic cream from Walgreens or similar and apply it thrice a day. Most contain mild antibiotics which should clear it up. If you can remove the ear stud then do so, clean the ear lobe and dip the stud in the cream before replacing it. If you stop wearing the studs altogether the hole will close up.

Pain, heat and swelling are the signs of infection, if you get any of these then go to your doctor.
Otherwise, just use some methelated spirits or the lotion they gave you when you got your ear pierced and turn your earring around 4 times a day. That will clear up the crusty bits.

It IS a scab.Remember, you just had a hole put in your body where there wasn't meant to be one. This might hurt, but it works.Try turning the stud/earring post often in the ear,and douse it (the piercing) with isopropyl alcohol as well. When you can tolerate to take the thing out,let it soak in peroxide for a bit and then put in alcohol for a minute prior to reinserting it.Just like any other wound, keeping it clean is the only way to avoid infection.

Signs of infection are redness, swelling, heat, and pain. Check your pierced ear and compare it to your other one to see if you have any of those. Pus would seem to suggest that you might have a little infection going on, especially if you've recently (as in today) gotten drainage. Gently clean your ear with an antibacterial soap and warm water, and place a triple-antibiotic ointment on your piercing. If it still hasn’t resolved in a day or two, or worsens, go see your family physician.

It could be, but it's actually more likely that it's an allergic reaction to the metal in your earring. A lot of people can wear certain metals as regular jewelry (rings, necklaces, etc.) but will be allergic if they put them in a piercing. The only thing I could wear in my ears for the first few years after getting them pierced was titanium. (I'm even allergic to gold, which is very rare.) I would recommend putting titanium studs in, as almost no one is allergic to that. What you are describing is exactly what mine did in response to metal allergies, and they started to heal right away.

maybe a little, take the earring out, dip it in peroxide, then put peroxide in a bottle cap and dip your ear lobe in it, if it sizzles its got a little infection, but it is likely healing. hang in there.
