Because Mecca is our holy place, it's where we face when praying so for reasons of love and respect, we build our bathrooms not in Mecca's direction.

Not the back nor the front,cause it's a holy place so it's not a good idea,........you know.
-it's the direction of praying so it shouldn't be the direction of the bathroom as well.

sorry , but there is just too much symbolism!
and it could get messy when you are a girl going to the bathroom, and sitting down in a funky way to pee! men again , have an advantage!
