If a guy who is attracted to you in a "more than friends" type of way is talking about you and describes you as "shes really cute" ---
what's the difference between that, and "she's really pretty" or "she's really hot"
Is there even a difference in this situation?

"cute" can have multiple meanings; depends on the context in which it is used. When someone says "cute" it seems they are trying to describe the persons looks and a bit of their personality.
I often associate "cute" with: fun personality, very pretty, natural beauty but in a cute way. Cute has a fun feel to the word.
"Pretty" means good looking. The term "pretty" to me seems to be used to just describe someone visually. I get no sense of the persons personality if someone is described as pretty.
I sometimes associate "pretty" with: well polished, or natural beauty. Pretty to me can sometimes have a proper / mature feel, or a natural feel to the word.
"Hot" is also a term more used to describe someone visually, but it can have different vibes from person to person. To me it means they are so good looking that they demand attention like the color fire red. Hot has a lusty feel to it.
I sometimes also have negative associations with this term, like high maintenance, flashy, fake etc.
If someone describes you as cute then I would take it as a great compliment because cute girls are usually fun and sexy.

well.. my boyfriend told me how classifies girls (generally)..
Cute: a girl who's cute is someone who has a cute personality.. acts cute and looks cute.. u can spot cute girls around, they're the one's where you go awww.. or smile when u see them 'coz they're just so adorable and they're very lovable.
Hot/Sexy: curves curves curves. sauve. hot. u see her, u drool but she's not the type for serious relationships. you can tell she's a party chick and she loves to have fun.
Pretty: A sweet chick, who knows her place, looks good naturally and has a great personality. she sort of in between cute and sexy, balanced out and not over the top for any.. she's "normal".. an average girl who likes to have fun but knows her limits, thus being a smart girl & knows how to look good but doesnt over do it..
Fun: a girl who likes to go out and just do things. she knows the time and place to make jokes and can laugh along with people and not at them. she's happy most of the time and knows how to lighten the atmosphere.. people like being around her because she's unpredictable AND smart.
B*tchy: enough said?
Beautiful: now if a guy every says you're beautiful.. it means they've fallen for you.. you dont really tend to see many guys go around saying "she's beautiful..".. sounds corny doesnt it? but when he knows that the girl is right for him, beautiful is just perfect. she's everything he's looking for.. shes hot, sexy, cute, pretty, fun, smart... she has a great personality and it just seems as if everything fits into place when he sees her. =]
that's my man's point of view anyway...

The meaning of words like these change depending on who says them, how old they are, who they are speaking to, who they are referring to, and where in the world they are. As a general guide, cute can refer to boys or girls and means attractive and/or sweet and lovable. Pretty is just for younger girls and means physically attractive. Hot means sexually desirable. Hot = I would have sex with her but nothing more, she is probably too stuipd to even talk with.
Cute = I would love the change to date her and maybe turn it into a relationship.
Pretty/Gorgeous = Outta my league, dream girl.

Hot = body.

shes hot.. its someone he wants to have sex with ...lol
like as in carmen electra is hot
shes pretty is someone he would consider as a girlfriend.. same as cute.,,cute is like someone you want to always be with, they rub off on you like a puppy you cant resist you always want to be with it

if a guy says hot- he is looking at your body
if a guy says beautifull- he is looking at our heart/soul
