Sounds like you just slept on it wrong. Take it easy for 3-4 days and take ibuprofen every 6-8 hours to help with the inflammation. If it does not go away, you might have a damaged vertebrae in your cervical spine (neck area). I have a damaged disc in my neck and I have learned what aggravates it, stopped doing it, and have been ok for over 10 years now.
Good luck!

Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it

Give some heat treatment.
Take a round pen or something else and roll over thumb of your hand behind nail pressing it simultaneously. Your neck will be relieved within no time.
Take a strong round magnet. Keep it below your neck such that South pole of the magnet touches the pain site.

specific! incredibly whilst the factors is like it incredibly is in the present day: damp and wet! The minute I awaken, after a night of twisting and turning and having a conflict royal with my pillow, i'm conscious that my "enemy "Arther Itis" is alive and properly and is killing me. My therapy includes a warm, and that i do advise H O T bathe. regrettably I stay on my own" so I could rubdown my own neck, take one Advil, and voila, i'm as solid as ever.
