I am asking this because I am curious if guys think it is practical (assuming that being practical is attractive to a guy) that girls spend money on lots of expensive items. Most of my friends like to shop and spend lots of money on expensive designer brands like Gucci, Prada, Coach, etc. They buy new clothes all the time and they love to spend money (not save).
Second question, do guys like it when girls spend lots of money and go shopping for themselves?

well my friends have loads and loads of clothes and accessories and such, they feel the need to buy more and more. They only wear tees, tops, and blouses only a few times. Some of them use their parents' money and the parents buy whatever they want. others use their own money, but none of my friends have jobs. In case you are wondering we are teens.

I like it when girls dress well, and this involves spending money. However, a mature woman sets limits, and I get the feeling that you and your friends don't. I wonder if shopping is more of a social thing, even a competitive thing, than a practical one. Buy nice clothes when you need them, not because you don't have anything better to do. (Also, most adults can't afford to buy expensive clothes all the time: they have mortgages, kids, college funds to save for, bills. Have fun while you're young, but look out for reality coming at you soon.)

the guys who like girls with expensive taste have expensive taste themselve...and they can afford to have expensive taste. A dude doesn't like a girl with expensive taste when they can't afford to give her what she wants...they feel less of a man. B/C no matter how liberal a guy may seem its just in their nature to want to take care of a girl.

hmm... Id say no just because a man sees this as he's going to be buying alot of 300 dollar shoes and purses (like me lol). But, I think its kinda sexy. I like when a woman keeps herself looking fresh and jazzy

If you can afford it why not. But you would be so much better off in the long run if you invested the money.

no, i can't stand having a girlfriend who buys expensive things and has a "name brand" taste. to me it shows that she has no true grasp on the meaning of life, and that she feels she has to look good by wearing expensive things.
