When whiskey is blended in a Scotish way, it is named as Scotch.
Generaly it is a process , where whiskey is kept in a container made of Oak tree wood, for a long time.
The main moto for doing so, is to make whiskey smoother and to have a different taste.
But the low cost Scotch are not original. These are flavoured as scotch, like pepsi, Fanta etc, where no fruit pulps are added.
