Ok this may sound like a silly question for people who have tried the seeds before, but wherever i look it tells you to scrape some fungus like substance off of the seeds before taking them... Now, looking at the seeds i have i dont really see any 'fungus-like' stuff on the surface, and i tried scraping one of the seeds to see if there was anything under it but im getting nothing... i cut the seed in half and there's another little seed inside that looks kind of like a tiny, peeled sunflower seed - is that what im supposed to use or what?

Any suggestions would be appreciated and please serious anwers only. thanks

The Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds have a fuzzy seed coat which looks a little like a fungus but it isn't. I expect the seeds you have are older and have been handled a lot so the fuzzy part of the seed coat has already been rubbed off. Six to eight seeds can be chewed or ground and consumed to get the effect you are probably looking for. The hallucinogenic effect is sometimes accompanied by some strong side effects such as gastric discomfort, including severe nausea and flatulence. Other after effects of these seeds include sensitivity to light, and impaired motor skills. The removal of the outer coating of the seeds is often recommended to reduce such effects. That would leave you with the "small peeled sunflower" that you mention. This is the part of the seed which has the "good" stuff and less of the "bad" stuff. Good luck and use caution with the seeds.
