20 lbs in 3 months is doable. Watch what you eat ( reasonable diet) and get moving( reasonable exercise) that is all you need to do. You can possibly lose 10 lbs a month without much difficulty, but you have to decide that this is what you want. No secrets, no short cuts, just simple good diet and exercise will get it off and keep it off.

There is no magic weight-loss pill, supplement, fad diet, or juice. The ONLY way to lose weight is to consume less calories than you burn. Brad Pitt didn’t get cut for Fight Club by drinking green tea, and you won’t either.
Walk for 30 minutes every day, including weekends, Mondays, and Fridays. Do at least 30 minutes of weight training each week. Do 60 minutes of additional, higher intensity cardio each week.
Cut back on the foods you eat with high fat and high sugar content. Eat only single servings (read the label) with less than 3 grams trans fat and 3 grams sugars. Throw out all of your ice cream, chips, cookies, cheese, fried foods, bacon, and candy.
Eat breakfast, and eat five small meals per day instead of three big meals. Don’t starve yourself during the day, but if you don't wake up famished, then you ate too much the day before. Stop eating at least two hours before you go to bed.
Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Turn off the TV and the computer. Sleep is vitally important.
Don't consume alcohol—alcohol is nothing more than empty calories with no nutritional value. Some people will argue that alcohol has some health benefits when consumed in moderation—I’m not debating that—but we’re talking about weight loss here. Lay off the booze if you want to lose the fat.
Drink lots of water, then drink more. Not tea, not Gatorade, not milk. Water. If your urine isn’t almost clear, you need to drink more water.

Your husband sounds like a cool guy. If you feel heavy then you are the one to change it. I was also pretty thin before our baby was born. I am drinking a lot of water and I got a gym membership for xmas. You have got to exercise no matter what you do with your diet. Not just for your weight, but your heart. Eat several small meals instead of three big ones. Use a teeny plate each time. Keep drinking that water. My personal fave, buy a smaller swimsuit and try it on when you feel like indulging. Don't torture yourself but make a serious goal and quit buying goodies. Do Not Eat In Restaurants! They serve too much yummy food.

I just got a walk vest that hold weights close to the body and doesn't hurt any joints or your back. I've dropped what looks like 20 lbs (probably isn't) in a little over a week. I wear it when I clean the house, shop and when I do my step workout. I just step up and then down and switch feet for 20 minutes straight every single day. The walkvest is making everything else work better and faster.

exercices and eatiing well balanced foods are a goood way to start .don't try any fad diets they only end up making you gain uneeccerssary water wieght.I myself seem to be old and many ways over my limit walking is one way to do a little bit every day i have gained alot of weight from many different cancer surgerys i have a stomach that looks like it may be 12 months pregnant seriously.Ido girl pushups maybe only 5 at a time i have little one pound dumb-bells my arms have got a little toned i want to get a hula hoop for summer i will be 50 in sept but if ihave my way i shall be on my way to looking feeling good 49 years i complained how i looked overweight wasnt as often as i thought.now iam 5'4 weighed184 pounds lost 44 dd breast so body isoff kilter but if i give you my word to do my best i will try for eight in a month if ypu try for 11 im not even sure thats fair i also will be doing chemo i don't know if i will gain or not but if you rather you doing eight me 11 i'll work with you support can come in good graces...

Control your eating habits. Don't necessarily eat less, just eat the right amount qualified. You have the control to grocery shop for healthy meals, do so. When you feel like eating but not really hungry, think first..ask yourself, "do you really think it's worth eating this?". But when you can't help it, switch snacks with healthy things like carrots and dip, etc. Basically cut down bad food or else you'll get that temptation knowing, "i have sweets in my fridge, i can grab it right now". Instead, you;ll think, "I only have apples, nvm". haha, you know what i mean.
get a treadmill, it helps a lot. Put it infront of your tv or something.
You know what though, it shouldn't matter. Your husband seems happy with your weight. You don't need to impress him, he loves the way you are already.

I've also been going wat your going throught, and trust me I've been pouring myself into books and interent facts most of the time... but I will tell you this there is a pyrimd not the bread fruits.. watever.. its wat your supposed to do.. ok one when you lose weight your calorie count decreases times your weight by seven and you'll get your cal. intake .. so if your 170 lbs.. then your intake should be 1,190.. ok now i will tell you the most helpful tool.. I did it and i've lose a total of 20 lbs so far..

4. This is your fruit and veggies.. 2 fruit and two veggies...
Remember eat the serving on the bags of the food product no over doing it..
I'll give you an example of a daily meal day for this.
Breakfeast:
Glass of milk and oats.... check 2 boxes.. one on whole grains and one on protein.. looks like this:

lxl l_l whole grains
lxl l_l l_l protein
l_l l_l l_l l_l fruits and veggies
ok Lunch say you have a tuna and mayo sandwhich.. (tuna is good for you remember that) and a mini can or package of veggies... also a bannana, somkind of fruit.. so check your boxes.. one for fat (plus make sure you write down how much cal.. 1 tbl of hemans lowfat mayo is 45, regular is 90.. so if you choose the regular then you will have 110 cal.. for fat) check 2 for fruits and veggies.. and one whole grain.. (if making a sandwhich i prefer you use wheat.. still good. and one for protien which is your tuna.
so it will look like this:
lxl 200 fats -90 110.. left
lxl lxl whole grains
lxl lxl l_l protein
lxl lxl l_l l_l fruits and veggies
now supper say you had turkey (recommened jennie-o's skinless-bonless turkey, soooo good! if you would like the recipe email me at ginagirl2506@yahoo.com.. ok moving one.. and some hmmmm some kind of veg.. like canned corn.. or green beans wast ever you like... so you mark your boxes one protien and one veg

Plus exercise every other day, drink lots of water also, and don't eat after 9:00pm.. Also do crunches everyother day... Dont exersice everyday, b/c your muscles need to regain strength... so exercise everyother day, and use the pyrimid..
