So you can join the police academy 18, graduate two years later why don't they have to display P plates?

I don't know what a "P" plate is, but usually you have to be 21 to be hired as a police officer. The Academy is 6 months full time, and not two years. Usually you must be 21 upon graduation.

Citicop is right. I never heard of a P plate, be interesting to know what it is.
