The way i see it...money is life. If you lack money, you're not getting health care until you hit an emergency room. The money you have is life.

Every decision that involves resources and money is political. By deciding to give money to Suburban Church charities, we took money out of inner city programs. That effects lives. Some might die from that decision.

We fund breast cancer research at 5 times the rate we do prostate cancer, and prostate cancer kills more people. The decision to fund one and not the other means lives.

A lot of rare diseases simply don't see any funding until someone extremely wealthy or famous gets it. Then resources come in. That's life.

Think of someone with Aids. The ones like Magic who can get treatment can live almost normal lives. In africa it's a death sentence.

Yes, money is life.
The history of the human race is really nothing more than the study of economic systems. All wars are fought over money, all regimes are established over money, and all dictatorships are organized to control money.
If you stick to this line of thought, you will always have a correct understanding of history.

I would like to see the whacked-out guy explain how any analysis of history, society and culture is even possible without the study of money. The Holocaust was about money - The Germans were forced to over-inflate the money in circulation in order to pay reparations for WWI, and they concocted a vast conspiracy theory to indict the Jews for the colapse of the German economy. Big surprise - the 'socialist' Nazis immediately demonized, imprisoned, robbed and murdered the wealthiest element of German society. Revolutionaries in Russia used the same tactic to blame the Czar for Russia's economic woes and to justify the transfer of wealth from the Russian aristocracy to the Communist aristocracy.

Meanwhile, as in all societies, the poor stay poor. Despite the most benevolent claims of governments, religions, and social organizations, the real economic power always remains in the hands of the dominant few, and vast poor are mostly left to fend for themselves.

Money is food, work is money, resources are money, free time is money, money is security, money is longevity, money is health. Money represents all possessions, all resources, all pursuits. Show me a philosopher with no money, and I will show you his tomb stone.
