Isn't God's word perfect? Why did God's word from the old testament need to be changed by Jesus?

Jesus didn't change it. The guys who wrote the book changed it because the times changed. They felt that the rules in the old testament were too strict so they changed them as to gain more members.

Yeah, it's perfect. It was changed for people's sake. In the Old Testament, when someone sinned, they had to sacrifice an animal. Since Jesus died for all sins, that was no longer needed. Forgiveness can be obtained just by asking for it. In other words, the Old Testament is still relevant but God doesn't judge as harshly anymore. That's a good thing!

Jesus did not change the rules but the history of the Hebrew people had proven that without God among them it was impossible for man to keep Father God's laws. Read about all of that in the OT. many times He reproved them because of the worship of idols and other gods. He came to mankind for a final time and offered His Word, Jesus Christ as the perfect sacrifice for man so that man might once again be able to find favor with Almighty God. Jesus changed nothing. He became the perfection of the laws of Father God so that everyone who believed in Jesus as the way to the Father can be saved. He rose from the dead so that we might believe that Jesus is the way and that Jesus is Lord of All.

Wd you are most correct . The others have no idea of what their talking about.
Jesus "The Christ" was sent down from heaven to answer the prayers of the Jewish people for a Messiah that would free them from the Roman rule.
Jesus said I have not come to change the laws but to full fill them.
It was the apostles interpretation of what Jesus said and did that led to the writers into making it look like Jesus had rewrote the laws.

Jesus didnt change the laws of the old testament he fulfilled them. Gods Word is perfect because it is of Him and He is perfect but us humans are imperfect and could never fulfill the all those laws and as a sacrifice is required to make up for the breaking of those laws, Jesus came the 'lamb of God' and as He was perfect (ie fulfilled all those laws), his sacrifice was the one for all mens sins so that we no longer need to sacrifice animals for our breaking of the law. Once we see the decide to believe in Jesus and what He did, we are no longer bound under the law, but that doesnt give us a licence to sin. If we sincerely believe and accept Jesus we will choose to obey Gods law to the best of our ability out of love for Him and thanks for what He did for us.

your right, Gods word is perfect, jesus himself said, I have come to FULFILL THE LAW (Matthew 5:17), Jesus never changed the word, that would be foolish, let me give you an example: matthew 5:27-28, about adultery, Jesus said "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery. But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

ok, what Jesus did was not change the word but show everyone that its not about the "letter of the law" but the "spirit of the law" its not about just following a set of rules but about whats in the heart, thats what God looks at. hope that helped.

Because God was not pleased with the blood sacrifices.
And up until that point when God wanted to talk to his people he would use a prophet, but now through Jesus name he will send his Holy spirit to live in each one of us! acts 2 And that spirit will talk to you and bless your life, the old testament foretold that God would do this and he did....God is Big!!!!!!!!!That's heavy!!!

It wasn't "changed" it was fulfilled and there is a big difference. Why do you stop paying your mortgage payment when the Bank tells you the note has been paid in full? Same thing with Christ. He paid the debt, fulfilled all the types and shadows of the Law and then showed us what the privileges of being truly free from the Law meant! Pretty awesome!

You have to understand that JESUS never wrote a book based on his life. Other people passed on stories twisted in their own way centuries ago and those stories were at one point or another written down only to be rewritten to please the audience.Nowhere in the bible does it say how JESUS was raised and how he truly lived his life until he was an adult saving people and professing the words of his father.

The system reflected the amount of grace avalablein the world.

In the ot days, there was no grace, so sin brought only God's wrath.

In the nt times, thanks to Christ's redeeming work, we're no longer under the law of sin, death, and wrath, but under grace.

New and better system. New reality.

The ot didn't change, the temporary laws, statutes, and ordinances of the ot had served their purpose, and were replaced by a better system, based on Christ, his grace, and his church.
