In Jesus name, I ask that you will do whatever it takes, allow anything to befall me, that will keep me on the right track, in Jesus name. I give up the ability to walk away from you, Jesus, and place myself entirely in your hands. You have my permission to take whatever steps may become necessary to insure my correct understanding of your will, in Jesus name.
As you know, if you ask in Jesus name, it will be given to you.
If you feel pressure to do things that you believe are harmful, it's time to sit down and notice your thoughts very carefully. Right action is merely correct, so if you are feeling like doing the wrong thing, you are placing value on nonsense. Meditate on it and observe your thoughts. This will help you eliminate attachment to desires.

That's wonderful! ^_^ I first attended church last spring, after starting to read the Bible about a year before that. Things have kept me from attending regularily, but it's a wonderful experience when I get to go.
God is going to do wonderful things for you, if you let Him. I look back on the last year and can't believe the changes I've been through. Especially the changes within myself.
I think the most important thing you can do is pray. When you first wake up, pray. Say goodmorning to Him, and thank Him for giving you another day to live. Ask Him to guide you, and for His Spirit to be with you so that you can stay true on His path, and do things which please Him. Also, make sure you ask that He changes anything within your heart that may pull you to go against Him. Keep this communication open all day.
Remember, you don't need to be on your knees to speak to Him. Talk to Him as a friend, anytime you want. He's always listening, and anxious to hear from you. The more focus you put on Him and doing this, the less you'll feel tempted too.
Other than that, just pray from your heart. I try not to pray any specific prayers. Rather, I focus on what I'm really 'feeling'. What I want to discuss with Him. He's my closest friend.
^_^ I know you didn't ask for anything specifically, but I did a Bible course which first got me interested in the Bible. It was really amazing how clear it made certain things. If you wish, check it out. It's great. http://www.amazingfacts.org/school/af_logon.asp
I wish you all the best in your new journey with Christ. Me you truely be blessed!

Acts 2:42 It's what the first believers did.
"And they persevered.." because it requires pressing toward the goal - there is actually an enemy trying to keep you back.
"..in the apostles' doctrine.." the early believers didn't have the written word as we do today. They kept talking about and doing what the apostles taught. We need to read our Bibles. It tells us what God's heart wants.
"... and fellowship..." hang out with Christians. It may sound trite, but you will become as your friends are. Make sure that you impact the world, not the other way around.
"... in the breaking of bread..." THE thing that Jesus left us with was The Lord's Supper. We do it in remembrance of Him. Everything about Christianity needs to point to Christ. He's the whole point. "REMEMBER HIM" Note that religions that claim to be "just like Christianity" teach so many of the morals, nice stuff, etc. but they change who Jesus was. But who Jesus is really is the whole point.
"... and in prayers." Spend time with God. The ONLY way to the Father is through the Son. There is no other mediator through whom you should try to approach the throne of God.

Good question.. ☺.
You are making a big choice and kind of look to your friend for support and to answer any questions.
Being differ ant (Christian) at a young age isn't easy but you'll find out there are lots of friends to rely on. You'll need to do some behavior modification, maybe put away some bad habits and learn being a Christian isn't as bad as they say it is once you establish yourself in Christ..☺

Just take some time out of your day to read the Bible and think about what you read. Jesus is all about having a relationship with you. And thus, the more time you spend with him. The more you will get to know him. Just like any other relationship.
Just take, say, 10 to 15 minutes out of your day. Make it your "quite time" if you will. Where you shut out everything around you. Music, T.V., Your worries and concerns for the day. Just read the Bible. You can start anywhere with it. Pray about what you read, think about it, or just wait on the Lord to show up.
Good Luck and God bless!

Congratulations on your commitment to the Lord. For sure it will pay rich dividends over time. But be forewarned that the first 3 years of you walk with Jesus can be turbulent. On the other hand there can be a lot wonderful moments as well.
