Take a few deep breaths, be sure to get enough sleep, and consider: what is the worst thing that could happen if i didn't get all the answers perfect? and what is the worst thing that happens to others in my class when their work is not perfect? Could I live through it? Nobody knows it all, that's why we have classes, to learn.
The purpose of tests is to let the instructor know how well she's doing HER job and to know where she needs to improve her part in trying to give the students a better understanding of the subject, and to make it interesting.
The things we enjoy most in life is learning something new - think about it. Sure would be dull and boring if there was nothing new under the sun.
Reader's Digest had a sentence at the bottom of a page that said something like, "What a loss it would be if, of all the birds in the forest, only the best singers sang?"
Just do what you can, and don't worry about being perfect. I was told there was only one who was perfect, and "If you were perfect, nobody would want to be around you!"

well when i prepare for an exam i try to do work ahead of time like on the weekends when i have nothing better else to do (such as the time you take watching TV, browsing the Internet, chatting with friends, or on the phone). The night before the exams i read things that interest me like a good book, or listen to some music with my headphones on and singing also helps. When i have horror dreams I try to wake myself up and stay awake for about 20 minutes than fall back asleep. Your dreams might just be an eye opener to what may happen during the exam but for me it happens but a different outcome always occur before, after, or during the sequence of events.

The advice always appears to be not to undertake any revision in the last few hours. I do not agree I find that it is essential to keep my mind occupied instead of fretting about the forthcoming exam.

you need to look at the bigger picture. In reality, HOW important is your one test anyway? not really worth all that worry, is it? And, if you are truly doing the best that you can do, you wouldn't be able to do any better, would you? So, there is no sense in freaking out about tests. Just do the best you can and you'll be satisfied with your success!
