I just took Vicks Nyquil-Cough about two hours ago, but I also have a fever. So I wanted to know if I could take tylenol for the fever after taking the Nyquil.

Erica,
Sometimes to break a fever if it is high(over 102) you can alternate with Ibuprofen. It comes in generic form and is just as effective as the more expensive brand names like Motrin or Advil. NyQuil does have Tylenol in it so if after 3-4 hours you still have a temp over 102 then I would take a couple of Ibuprofen tablets. If the fever is not very high don't worry about it. Fever is the bodies natural way of killing a virus. It only becomes dangerous when it is very high.

Tylenol. Thats it. There are other things you can take but only if your doc says it's alright. Nyquil contains many harmful things. Call your doctors answering service or call ask a nurse. They can tell you what is safe.

Both products contain acetaminophen and by taking both you can run the risk of a overdose. If you take Nyquil there is usually enough acetaminophen in it to help with fever

No, do not take Tylenol with NyQuil- NyQuil already has lots of Tylenol(acetaminophen) in it. To much Tylenol is toxic to your liver.

Nyquil and tylenol both contain acetominophen. Tylenol would be redundant
