why in the world would you leave out a bowl of biscuits for the dog???

cat stuff has way more protein in it so that's why dogs love it.

just relax. if he doesn't like dog biscuits then he doesn't like dog biscuits... no biggie... really.

ohhhh, ok... that explains it.

i always made my own dog food for my boxers. brown rice, loads of veggies cut into large pea sized pieces and little chunks of meat or ground meat. they grew healthy and happy and lived on this for their entire (and full) lives. i also made them biscuits/cookies from rye flour, whole wheat flour, yeast, egg, bulgar wheat, a bit of corn flour (to help move it through their systems), beef or other tasty stock, peanutbutter and whatever else i felt like throwing in there.

i baked them and cut them into little bars as treats.

they loved them and used to watch them bake through the oven window. they KNEW what i was baking and loved me for it!!! just a regoooolar nuts and berries mum, i spoze.

it's not a huge time consumer (1 batch per week) and it's a good thing to do. there's so much processed stuff in these dog foods that it's worth considering.

good luck to you!

Some people prefer to feed raw but that should only be done if you know enough to be certain you have the balance right. It's not just about meat and bones. However, dog biscuits are really just a treat. Years ago people used to feed 'Terrier meal' and meat, tinned or otherwise but these days, with all the complete diets available, this sort of feeding isn't done very often, and in truth, 'biscuits' don't have all the nutrition a dog needs. Although mine do have the occasional Bonio, or other dog biscuits, this doesn't form part of their daily diet by any means. And these days I use fish-treats (Fish4Dogs make a variety of treats that mine love and which I feel is far healthier, than biscuits). You can feed raw carrots as a treat too - again healthier.

He needs dog FOOD, not biscuits in his bowl. Biscuits are supposed to be treats and vitamins and minerals in the food are required for healthy growth.

Just as dog food is formulated for dogs, I'm sure cat food is formulated for cats. If a dog were to get into "some" cat food or treats, no it wouldn't hurt them, but as a constant food source, I'm sure it won't be good for him.

Use some regular PUPPY food, and if he's not too crazy about it, you can drizzle some chicken broth over it.

i would mix some puppy kibble in with the can dog food..mix well add warm water and let soak if ya have to then soak less each time he needs something to crunch or the pups gonna have bad teeth cause he should be or even have his adult one coming in. kitty food has a better smell then dogs because cats are picky eaters.. but it will not give you pup what it needs. and biscuits in a bowl.. that should be a treat not left for him to have when ever. try some soft treats in training.... and feed 2 times a day he might just need a rotinue...like morn and supper time....when food is left available any time they want to eat they get fat....

Any cat food is better, it offers more nutrition and high quality meats. Which is probably why he likes them. Biscuits schould be a treat! DO NOT just leave them out!

It's normal. Puppies need alot of protien and dog buisets have not as much.Inthe future he may like dog buisets. Cat busiets will affect him but not in a bad way. If he likes them, let him eat it.
