I just got back from the Philippines. The people are nice but the food........ forget it. I got very sick. It's super crowded and poor. People talk a bit like Donald Duck. Other than that, they mostly speak English. It doesn't have as good an infrastructure for tourism as Thailand.

Thailand has really good food and the people are nice too. Phuket is a bit of a sewer. The flights to Thailand are cheaper but there are a lot of Euro sex tourists (in the Philippines as well)

It is a real turn-off to see these fat old guys messing with poor hungry teenagers.

If you go to Phuket, you need to make your way to Phatong Beach, that's where the largest tourist area is at. Also, you might want to go out on a tour to either Phi Phi Ley or the James Bond Islands.

In the Philippines, keep a lot of small peso notes handy. You get really good service from the locals all the way there, none of them will likely steal from you, and they don't need more than a gratuity. When you hear "hey Joe!", they're talking to you.

Both of them are great vacations and both countries are user-friendly, but the Philippines will have more English speakers.

The guy several answers down who said the food in the PI was bad didn't go to the right places. The bigger cities in both countries have American and European restaurants all over the place, and the resorts in both places serve fresh fruits and restaurant quality food. You don't have to eat "local" if you don't want to.

(By the way, this is not the travel section!)

It incredibly relies upon. Phuket and Boracay are extremely diverse. Boracay is a small island. There are not any airport or seaport. there is an airport in the foremost island and from there you're taking an outrigger boat to Boracay. that's in basic terms solar and sea coast. some nightlife, treking, memento procuring and different aqua activities (diving, wind surfing, and so on..) yet thats it. study to Phuket, it has direct flights and quite obtainable. since's a popular section (city), you are able to circulate around and spot Thai subculture and its temples in case you lose interest in the sea coast. in case you only prefer the solar and sea coast for 7 days, then Boracay is for you. in case you like greater desirable than that, then Phuket could tournament you nicely.
