"All those Catholic expounders of the divine Scriptures, both Old and New, whom I have been able to read, who have written before me concerning the Trinity, Who is God, have purposed to teach, according to the Scriptures, this doctrine, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit intimate a divine unity of one and the same substance in an indivisible equality; and therefore that they are not three Gods, but one God: although the Father hath begotten the Son, and so He who is the Father is not the Son; and the Son is begotten by the Father, and so He who is the Son is not the Father; and the Holy Spirit is neither the Father nor the Son, but only the Spirit of the Father and of the Son, Himself also co-equal with the Father and the Son, and pertaining to the unity of the Trinity." - St. Augustine of Hippo ("On The Trinity" 4th century A.D.)

God is above everyone and everything. Jesus is His Son. The Holy Spirit is God's power.

I really like your question. I am not an authority of religion although, I am a Christian. Therefore, I can't support my feeling, but in my heart this is what I believe in my personal relationship. Since we use the phrase that God is the creation of the world, and we see our Lord Jesus Christ use the phrase my Father in Heaven. The Holy Spirit brings us to Christ.
There's God the Father, and God the son (The son of God) and God the Holy Spirit! This would make the Father the creator. Therefore, God created Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
It would make Him above Jesus and the Holy Spirit, because He is our Father. As He created us. Your question brings another thought.
Does God the Father consider Himself above His son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit?
God Bless

Yes, I believe He is. This seems evident to me when you look at the Gospels in the Bible where Jesus is referring to the Father. He always speaks about how He is doing His Fathers will, not His own. Jesus never put Himself above God in any way..Even when He was hurt and scared of dying. He still would do the Father's will above anything He wanted, even to that extreme.
(Matthew 26:39) And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Note that the cup Jesus was speaking about is symbolic to what He was facing in the near days, being crucified.
Also, Jesus clearly said that only the Father would know the exact time of the second coming. If they were on equal levels, why would Jesus not know?
(Matthew 24:36) But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Never, in my knowledge, has the Holy Spirit been put before the Father, either.
I hope this helped.
Blessings and Love,
Sarah

Interesting question. I believe in the holy trinity so really Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all one. But Jesus did pray to his Father for guidance and submitted to his will. Although that was when Jesus walked with us as a man. So I would say that all three are equal as they are one.

Actually, they are all one, yet seperate. Jesus said, "If you have seen me then you have seen the Father". As for one being greater than the others, I don't think so. The Father, Son and Spirit are a Trinity as we are also a trinity. The Father, Son and Spirit work in our BODY, SOUL and SPIRIT. The best I have ever come up with to explain what I believe is that I am a three part being like god is a three part being and yet am one even as He is One. My name is John. That is who the one person is, yet I am a father to my son(who calls me Dad), a son to my mother(who calls me Johnny) and a husband to my wife(who calls me Honey). I am one person who has three distinct functions. Hope this helps.

"above" as far as what? Jesus said he had the authority to forgive sinners, condemn sinners, accept prayer, and preceded Abraham (hence, was eternal).... So I would be pressed to say that no, God is not "above" Christ..... But I would not make it a necessary point of doctrine. If you want to merely believe The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I think that is fine.... But if you want to believe the three are exactly equal, I think that is fine too.

yes and no. God is God and the Holy Spirit is actually God's spirit in which He blesses us with and Jesus is God's son so yes God is about Jesus.

What is god? Ask yourself this is a flower above a bird or a human above a cat? All things are equal as all are made from the same matter. Only you can truly answer that question.
