You're skin is most likely extremly dehydrated. I would change your cleanser to a cream or a milk cleanser....something gentle for now. And use a really good cream after everytime you wash or shower.....it's really important for this dry time of year......your skin will eventually come back and it won't burn anymore.

Do not use that product again, ever. You may be allergic. A cleanser should never hurt your skin. You shouldn't even get that 'tight' feeling.
Check the ingredients list. Things that cause allergies are alcohol, SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate, it's in most soaps), benzyl peroxide, and salicylic acid. If there is an ingredient in the product that you think is causing the allergy, make sure to check that anything else you buy doesn't contain it.
Use something for sensitive skin, some hypo-allergenic. The absolute best range for sensitive skin is Avene. It's a French range made on pure thermal spring water, and it's beautiful.
You could also try the Simple range (although the foaming cleanser contains SLS), or even a gentle cleanser from Dove. Steer clear of Loreal, as it can contain a lot of alcohol, and any acne products, as they may contain benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
Make sure you're using a gentle toner and moisturiser as well. That will keep your skin hydrated. A cleanser can burn your skin if your skin is too dry.
Another way to go is the natural way! Natural Instinct, Ecotanicals, and Yuva are my favourite natural ranges, but that's in Australia.
Good luck.

change your product quick! you probably have sensitive skin or are allergic to the product. get something gentler (I have clear skin that is sensitive and I use neutrogena wash and clinique dramatically different moistureizing gel). your skin might break out with repeated use of the product that made your face burn. if your face still burns or is still red after a couple of days, call a dermitologist (I know, I sound like a doctor, but whatever). Good luck!

I've heard twice a day is ideal, but even though I have oily skin, I've found 2x a day is too much for me because it dries my skin out. I'd wait a few days until your skin feels better before you continue washing. What kind of face soap are you using? Ones with microbeads can irritate sensitive skin, and some people react negatively to too much acne-treatment stuff (like Benzol peroxide or Salicylic acid). Try using a gentle cleaner without acne medication in it and never ever use hand soap!

The same thing used to happen to me using regular soap. I went to the doctor and found I was allergic to regular soap. He recommended Neutrogena. I have been using it ever since. It is more water soluble than regular soap, so it rinses away better and doesnt leave anything on your face to cause the burn. I use the bar for sensitive skin. It's a little more expensive than regular soap, but very much worth it.

NOOOOO! Stop immediately. Your face may peel. Don't panic. Use products for sensitive skin for a little while. I'm not sure what you were using, but this used to happen to me with salicylic acid products. If it doesn't get better, go ask your dermatologist.

-Don't wash your face in hot water first of all
-the aloe product may have a type of alcohol in it especially if it's in "gel" form in a bottle.
-quality aloe is brown not green and should come in a jar or straight from the aloe plant itself!

it might have dried out your face so badly, that it burned your face. also, if there is a high concentration of benzoyl peroxide, it could cause you to get a chemical burn. I recomment using a different face wash because it will always react to your skin the same.

Sounds like you are allergic. Use Caress soap or Noxema if it doesn't burn, but Caress soap original is very mild on the skin.

Maybe the soap you are using. Get something hypoallergic like Clinique. May also be the chlorine in the water.
