Enoch was removed from the Bible a long time ago, before the Council of Jamnia (where many learned Rabbis had never heard of the book). While we good biblical scholars know that Jesus quotes Enoch, Enoch remains outside of the canon of the Bible.

I'm in the process of reading it now. Very interesting. I have only gotten to the part where Enoch was to petition for the angels and God showed him many wonders, and denied the angels request.
I think that all the books intended to be in the bible, should have remained in the Bible - Both books of Adam and Eve, Nicodemus, Infacy, Odes of Solomon etc.
If it is the word of God, as it is believed to be, it should be distributed and taught as a whole. However, back in the day, when only the rich elite could read, it was rumored that the Bible was "tweaked" by the kings of the time in order to manipulate the lower classes. So in my opinion, the untouched books that have been left out of the version we know now, may be the closest thing we have left to the "true word of God."
In response to Erica R - If god had any control over the removal of the book of Enoch and all the other editing over time, then maybe there is a higher reason behind why it is being so widely distrubuted in it's original text now.

I believe that the Book of Enoch was quoted in the Book of Jude in the New Testament and should be a part of the Bible. It is a part of my Bible so I am not moved by men and their preferences I believe Father God.

Canonization is for politicians. Christians should have nothing to do with it.
You're free to read the book whether it's in the Bible or not. There's no special status needed.
(I think there are several different books of Enoch. Which one are you talking about?)

My opinion. No. Men have already messed things up too much. If we are going to "blame" the Catholic church for the version of the Bible we have today, why would anyone think that men today are anymore capable or inspired to make a decision like that?

It wasn't ever removed from the Bible because it was never cannonized in the first place! Now get on the telephone! Even though I'm dead, I still got bills to pay!

Excuse me but let me answer a question with a question,
Wasn't it man that decided which books were going to
to be included in the bible? And ERIKA R , please if you
seriously think like that, then why would god even let
this question come up?

God is smart enough and all knowing enough to make and keep his bible. If he wanted this as part of it, he would have it in the KJV today... He didnt, so it is not there... God can handle himself, he didnt need men to do it for him!
