I am a new seller on e-bay and this guy just won an item. Well, after waiting a week for payment I realized he lives in Puerto Rico. I am already losing money on this particular item, he won at a very low price. So I'm freaking out... if I have to pay more for shipping than I'm getting way screwed. Please help! I need to know if it costs more or if there are papers to fill out like in other places?

No........... Puerto Rico is part of the US and it is part of the USPS system...so the cost to send a package from NY to Fla, will be the same from NY to PR.

Now if you use DHL or Fedex, the cost will be higher.

USPS is your best options.....

I am also an E-Bayer and lived in US and now in Puerto Rico.

If you use USPS (United States Postal Service) the cost of shipping to Puerto Rico will be the same as mailing to another state. However, if use FedEx, UPS, or DHL you will have to use an international shipping form and not a domestic form. Since these are independent couriers, the government of Puerto Rico has the right to tax merchandise bought from the US and abroad. My friend who moved back to Puerto Rico after living in Orlando got a tax bill from the island's tax department for electronics and other appliances she bought from the mainland. Her cargo was inspected upon arrival on the island. She was also taxed heavily for bringing in a new car from Florida to the island.

Our post office system is run by the federal government. Check the prices out in the nearest post office. Good luck!

Yep, costs more. I'm not sure of any paper work, so contact the post office on that.
