i'm eating more meals a day (6) and yet only having one serving at each sitting. so the mini meals will help your low sugar. because you'll be constantly inputting fuel. as for the meal servings. dont overstuff your plate. i have one serving and then throw the rest out! sometimes i give it to the dogs or the trash can. i've lost 15lbs! i swore i wouldnt weigh myself but i had to. and i was so happy!

Okay. First, stop making excuses. We all have issues that stop us from losing weight -- you just have to over come them. You have to get out of the mindset that you can't do it and start thinking that you can or you never will. I know I sound harsh, but it's true. You seem like you are only seeing the obstacles and not the big picture.

Second, because of your sugar levels, thyroid, etc., you should talk to your doctor about diet. He will best be able to advise you and help you work out a plan for what is best for you to lose weight. You can pretty much eat what you do now while dieting, generally, you just have to eat the correct portion sizes. For example, the correct portion of a serving of meat is about the size of a deck of cards -- so about half of the average chicken breast.

Third, everyone can exercise to some extent. Buy some cheap hand and ankle weights and look online for exercises that you can do. Go for walks with your child. Great way to spend time together -- even if you can only go for a couple of block. Buy a mat and a pilates or yoga video and do the exercises that you can manage. Many do not place weight on the feet or not on both feet. Bike, if you can. Do what your body will let you and think creatively.

Fourth stop wasting money on vitamins and supplements. They do not work as far as weight loss goes unless they are prescription diet pills (though an new OTC diet pill has been approved by the FDA). Take a multi. That's really all you need (unless your doctor advises you otherwise)

It is all about portion control and patience sweetie. I have a few simple and inexpensive suggestions for you. First...water...water and more water....you should be drinking it all the time. Water will keep your fat hydrated, and it is easier to get rid of it when it is hydrated, when it is *thirsty* it goes into *i'm gonna save myself* mode, and much more difficult to get rid of. Water also will make you feel more full, so you will not need to eat as much to feel satisfied. Every meal should start with an apple, do not pick up a fork until that apple is gone. Make sure you start your day will breakfast, don't EVER skip it, same reason as for the water....if you do not start your day off with something for your system to digest, it will go into that stubborn *i'm gonna save my self * mode. Try to eat 5 or six very small meals a day, but make sure that your last meal (snack) is several hours before bedtime. Try very hard to get your self into the right frame of mind.....remember, this is YOUR body....and you have to take control and demand that your body loses the unwanted weight. It is not easy, and it is not fast.....I am sure that you know that if you lose weight too fast, it will only come back plus some. I know that you have some issues with physical fitness abilities, but use your imagination to get some type of exercise each day...not so much to burn calories, but to gain muscle, it will help in the long run. I wish you the best of luck, and remember.....be determined!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

There is a great book by Mary Shoman, called, "Living well with hypothyroidism". Her other book is called, "The Thyroid Diet". I'm extremely Hypothyroid. I've found so much solace in these books. Your thyroid controls your metabolism as well as about 28 other body systems. When it's out of whack, your whole system is off. It can contribute to issues with blood sugar too. It's possible if you look at the first book I mentioned, you'll see yourself in that book. It feels good to know you aren't alone. I'll also give you a link to a great website where you can read others questions and ask questions yourself. You'd be amazed at how much we are affected by thyroid problems. I have to many issues to list right now. It can get very depressing. You may need medication to control your thyroid. Have you talked to your doctor about this? Also, sometimes you have to change doctors if they aren't listening to you. Best Wishes to you.

I also don't have a lot of money to spend on trying to lose weight. If you can afford it, even though you have to feed your kids, I swear by Lean Cuisine dinners and their other stuff. Unless you have the money to spend on healthy ingredients, its hard to prepare a healthy meal on the stove. I only keep healthy snacks like fruits and vegetables and yogurt around for when I get hungry. As for exercise, just standing up and moving your arms while walking in place is better than nothing. Maybe if you search on eBay they have exercise videos for people with physical limitations? Diet pills are nothing but trouble. My aunt passed away as a result of Fen Phen. You just can't trust what they're doing to your body.

The best of luck to you.

Go beyond your limits when you work out not to the extent your going to hurt yourself I'm just meaning if u feel like quiting put it behind yourself and go at it harder then you think you can go, if u got the money eat subway sometimes , a deli meat sandwich if not, DO NOT DRINK CARBONATED DRINKS LIKE COKE, Gatorade or Water is a nice substitue it won't be a fast process but within a month or 2 you'll see progress

No more than 1200 calories a day. Eat mainly fruits and veggies. Only lean meats and few carbs.

Do exercises sitting down. Like, get a punching bag and sit down and feverously punch it, lift dumbells, do sit ups and crunches. Even if you are sitting in a chair, so a rocking back and forth motion like you are bowing, that will really work your abs.

When you are sitting, constantly be tapping your toes and moving a little bit.

Best of luck to ya.

I've also been going wat your going throught, and trust me I've been pouring myself into books and interent facts most of the time... but I will tell you this there is a pyrimd not the bread fruits.. watever.. its wat your supposed to do.. ok one when you lose weight your calorie count decreases times your weight by seven and you'll get your cal. intake .. so if your 170 lbs.. then your intake should be 1,190.. ok now i will tell you the most helpful tool.. I did it and i've lose a total of 20 lbs so far..

ok Its called the 4-3-2-1 pyrimind

l_l <---- 1.
l_l l_l <---- 2.
l_l l_l l_l<----------3.
l_l l_l l_l l_l<------------4.

1. This is the 200 cal only.. that means your fats.. Like mayo, and toppings.. fat stuff.. lol duh
2. This is your whole grains... to servings
3. This is your protein, mean your meat, and dairy.. only 3 servings
4. This is your fruit and veggies.. 2 fruit and two veggies...

Remember eat the serving on the bags of the food product no over doing it..
I'll give you an example of a daily meal day for this.

Breakfeast:
Glass of milk and oats.... check 2 boxes.. one on whole grains and one on protein.. looks like this:

l_l 200 fats
lxl l_l whole grains
lxl l_l l_l protein
l_l l_l l_l l_l fruits and veggies

ok Lunch say you have a tuna and mayo sandwhich.. (tuna is good for you remember that) and a mini can or package of veggies... also a bannana, somkind of fruit.. so check your boxes.. one for fat (plus make sure you write down how much cal.. 1 tbl of hemans lowfat mayo is 45, regular is 90.. so if you choose the regular then you will have 110 cal.. for fat) check 2 for fruits and veggies.. and one whole grain.. (if making a sandwhich i prefer you use wheat.. still good. and one for protien which is your tuna.

so it will look like this:

lxl 200 fats -90 110.. left
lxl lxl whole grains
lxl lxl l_l protein
lxl lxl l_l l_l fruits and veggies

now supper say you had turkey (recommened jennie-o's skinless-bonless turkey, soooo good! if you would like the recipe email me at ginagirl2506@yahoo.com.. ok moving one.. and some hmmmm some kind of veg.. like canned corn.. or green beans wast ever you like... so you mark your boxes one protien and one veg

look like this:

lxl 200 fats -90 110.. left
lxl lxl whole grains
lxl lxl lxl protein
lxl lxl lxl l_l fruits and veggies

Now you have one fruit left.. you can have it with your supper, or make a nice smootie to snack on later when hungry!

lxl 200 fats -90 110.. left
lxl lxl whole grains
lxl lxl lxl protein
lxl lxl lxl lxl fruits and veggies

Well I hope that helps you out..most of my learnings were from the biggest loser... if you want great meals pick up the biggest loser cookbook or email me ginagirl2506@yahoo.com for some... i also have one for smooties..

Hope this help!

Plus exercise every other day, drink lots of water also, and don't eat after 9:00pm.. Also do crunches everyother day... Dont exersice everyday, b/c your muscles need to regain strength... so exercise everyother day, and use the pyrimid..
Good luck!
