ok i'm really good friends with this one guy at my school. I also used to like him in the begining of the school year but i let it quiet because my friend liked him A LOT, but she said she's suddenly stopped liking him because she met a guy at her family's New Years party and she has a boyfriend now.
So i thought that I could bring up the whole liking him with out guilt again. All of our friends tell us that we would be a cute couple and all he does is smile when he hears it but he doesn't say anything and sometimes he acts like he likes me but i don't know. I like him, and i really would like to know what it would be like to go out with him. Although the current news from my friends is that my friend who liked him before still does.
My best friend who I have known for forever is saying that she will ask him if he would go out with me hypothetically on Monday. How do I separate the like of an extremely cute, sweet, and perfect guy from the worry of losing a really great friend?

You sound like you are overthinking the problem. As far as you know she still likes the other guy from the New Year party right? So I say let him decide who he likes. Guys usually like someone who is freindly and approachable. Stay with your plan on having a friend ask him. Good luck

Sit your friend down and talk to her. Tell her how you feel and ask her how she would feel about the situation. Which is more important to YOU? Your friend? Or some guy? You have to choose.

I would see if your friend really likes this boy. Then you would know where you stand. Until then, treat it casually. Friendly, short, happy conversation. That probably wouldn't hurt.
