Yes it does really work . I have done it deliberately. everyone astrally projects when the physical body goes to sleep. But in a random non directional way. What you are trying to do is give your mind and soul specific directions as to what you want them to do while your sleeping. Do not expect results the first time as you may give yourself to much stress trying to force it. it takes repeated tries before you get the hang of it. and do not worry about returning to your body. it will return automatically just as in regular sleep. But some people do use Physic self defense tactics just in case you do run into a evil spirit. There are books out on this subject.

I think I have, although I do not remember my "spirit" state hovering around (astral travel), I have been going through astral catalepsy which is thought to be when your spirit tries to come back into ur body, and it cant because your physical state has been awakened, you cant even move or talk or anything.

Not intentionally! I haven't got that much discipline. (or whatever it "takes.") But it did happen once, & I haven't a clue how, or why. I was just sitting in a chair, & zap. It's really impossible to explain. I could "feel" myself sort of grasping~& I could see myself below, in the chair, & my hands were in my lap, not in the air. There was an instant of~hmmm~indecision. Like, did I want to get back? I felt sort of "grayish." Does that make any sense? Long time ago. Must have decided to come back, because here I am. I remember asking my friend in whose apartment I was, what had happened. He said: "Nothing. Your eyes looked kind of funny, though." I'm famous (or infamous?) for psychic abilities, but not THAT.

Yes I have read about it, and believe that it works.
No I have not yet done it, because you have to be very stable in your state of mind and concentration. This is very necessary as you may caught in two frames of time if done with out help of an expert.
However you can experiment in the time frame you exist to learn some of its benefits like contacting some one in the neighborhood you but not present near you

My dad says it works, in fact he's afraid of it. He told me he astral projected and saw his father lying in a coffin. His father was killed in a logging accident not long after that. My dad has been afraid to do it again and that was almost thirty years ago.

I read a book about it, attempted it, then came to the conclusion that it is completely ridiculous.
Honestly, think about it. It is in no way logical.
Anyone who thinks it is possible will just tell you that you have to have faith for it to work. Ha, thats the same as pretending.

Of course it does... You can achieve it better if you are in deep meditatation, almost in a trance. You might wake up feeling like your being choked or held down...that is you coming back into your body..
