Someone out there, larger than yourself and possibly holier than thou ;), wants you to be successful. Dreams are tricky to interperet. Maybe, just maybe, God wants you to slow down and be thankful for what you have. Check out this story about dream interpretation:

Genesis 41
Pharaoh's Dreams
1 When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing by the Nile, 2 when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds. 3 After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt, came up out of the Nile and stood beside those on the riverbank. 4 And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.
5 He fell asleep again and had a second dream: Seven heads of grain, healthy and good, were growing on a single stalk. 6 After them, seven other heads of grain sprouted—thin and scorched by the east wind. 7 The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy, full heads. Then Pharaoh woke up; it had been a dream.

8 In the morning his mind was troubled, so he sent for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him.

9 Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, "Today I am reminded of my shortcomings. 10 Pharaoh was once angry with his servants, and he imprisoned me and the chief baker in the house of the captain of the guard. 11 Each of us had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own. 12 Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream. 13 And things turned out exactly as he interpreted them to us: I was restored to my position, and the other man was hanged. [a] "

14 So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh.

15 Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it."

16 "I cannot do it," Joseph replied to Pharaoh, "but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires."

... you can read the rest, but Joseph deciphers the dream effectively, and becomes very successful. Pray about it, because God can tell you what your dream really was about.

You need to think about the day prior to the night you experienced the dream. Was their or is their an older man in your life that is trying to straighten you out or clean you up? Are you afraid of this person? Were you late for an appointment or meeting? Were you afraid you might be late for a meeting? There probably wasn't too much to it. If you are thinking there is a higher purpose to the dream, you should pray about to receive your answer and not ask a bunch of us schmucks here in this forum.

No joke, Dreams mean nothing but your subconsious trying to make sense of your day. If you have anxieties these will sometimes come out in your dreams. But as far as dreams being something supernatural, or a message of some sort..that is idiotic

i think its a message on "stop taking everything so seriously" and just to calm down a little bit. First the idea of being late to work in a dream suggest stress in your life possibly. Then another impeding factor (the big scary guy) helps you out. Possibly it could mean that you just need to mellow out, theres a light at the end of the tunnel (if your'e stressed out)

About the mans form and stature you will enjoy life vastly and come into rich possessions. If you were running alone indicates that you will outstrip your friends in the race for wealth, and you will occupy a higher place in social life. But who is this man is it a sign of a person that is already in your life or is it someone you need in your life to make this all happen

This is the interpretation. You are a very exact and diligent person, prone to anxiety given you were worried about going to work. Because of your good nature (embodied by the old, strong man in white ) you will receive respect and honor (symbolized by the tie) of people around you.

Be on the look out for this guy. He's watching out for you. Ask yourself upon going to sleep tonight to see him again. No matter what's going on in the dream, stop and talk to him. Skip dream work that day and go for a walk with him.

The old man is a father image, big, strong and fussy. He's very interested in your success and he's proud of you.

Nothing else in the dream really matters.

OK here is your explanation. IT'S A DREAM, IT MEANS NOTHING. IT IS SIMPLY THE RAMBLINGS OF YOUR SUB CONSCIOUS MIND. NO DEEP MEANING, NO HIDDEN MESSAGE. IT IS JUST A DREAM.
