so this boy asked me to go out on a date. and I said yes. Well the more I thought about it I figured it just wasn't a good idea. hes my ex's friend, he's like in love with me and I don't have the same feelings for him and I don't want a boyfriend. I'll be going to college soon and I don't want to be tied down. I know that nothing is going to come from him, and he is also my good friend and I don't want to ruin our friendship, although I may have already. I need help I don't want to loose him as a friend and I don't know what to do, any help would be great!! (our dates this monday) I'm 18 and he is 20.. thanks!

There is nothing better than being totally honest. Just explain to him everything that you just said in your question. you thought about it and decided not to go on the date. You like him and don't want to lose him as a friend. Also you don't see this friendship as going anywhere because you will soon be going off to college. Should be cool, at least if you tell him all of this, you will feel better in the long run, no matter how things turn out. Good luck.

Try talking to him and maybe make less of the date. Tell him you enjoy his company as a friend, but because you don't want to ruin a great friendship so you think you should keep it as friends.

Talk to him about it up front. Tell him how exactly how you feel with sparing his feelings from thinking it is something he has done. After that you two could still go out on the town as friends, if you both like. It doesn't have to lead to anything and you could have a good time. Or you can choose to leave it alone after the talk, but be honest and up front about it. If you wait until after the date, it could lead to hurt feelings and complications.

why agree to go on a date to a guy dont like to get involve with? tell the guy your true feelings, and that you dont what to ruin your friendship which you think is more important to you, besides its a no no to date your friend's ex.

You can tell the boy that you'll be going away to college and you don't think it's fair to him to start dating when you'll be going away.
You could tell him that you like him, we could talk on the phone sometimes, but right now my studies need to come first.

you can tell him that you don't think you should date and why. But also tell him that you wish that this wouldn't ruin your friendship.
