I need to upload a video to my computer so I can post it on YouTube, but I don't know how to get it from my video camera to the laptop. And if it helps, I have a Dell computer.

Either you have a USB or A IEE Port (firewire) and you connect them but you need to install the software that came with your camera and then connect it. This should work. Also if you are gonna be doing this you need to get yourself a slave drive or an external hard drive. Also If you have dinasaur technology that has a video tape in it then you might want to consider using a external video capture hardware.

I am assuming your video camera cannot be directly hooked to the laptop, it doesn't have a USB or Fire-wire cord. If this is the case, you will need to buy this adapter, called Dazzle, that allows you to hook up all sorts of things like record players, cassette players, video cameras, etc, especially if they only use those round plugs (RCA plugs) . You will first need to download your video to a program like Windows movie maker then edit your video and upload it to YouTube.
