I mean, if gay people were supposed to exist, they would be able to have kids. Besides, who is not to say that faulty genes are at work here?

it's a mental disorder

It might be faulty genes, it might be a bombardment of hormones while still in the mother's womb, it might be learned behavior, or an experience of molestation while still a child. I think it could be any of those things, all cases not being the one true answer.

But since I am Bisexual and also a Christian, I think that I am swayed by the part of me that tends to wander away from God. Or in more abrupt terms my sinful nature or flesh takes control.

So I would agree, though there might be a more diplomatic way to put it, that Homosexuality is a disease.

Well, since homosexuality as a physical characteristic is still around, and has ALWAYS been around, that argues that it serves some sort of purpose in the species. If you talk to homosexuals themselves, the vast majority (in my experience) will tell you that they've been gay ever since they knew what attraction meant. It's not a choice, any more than someone being heterosexual is a choice. (Then of course you have the bisexuals, who can swing back and forth... and wouldn't it be interesting to do a study finding out how many gay people who've been "converted" to heterosexuality were actually bisexual to begin with?)

In any case, if they're not hurting you -- I say leave them alone. Or should I say, leave US alone.

A disease? NO! I think people make choices based on their upbringing and surrounding. Now that so many homosexuals are out of the closet, I feel it causes other people to doubt their sexuality. I think it will really confuse our younger generation and homosexuality is just going to keep on growing.

David: Homosexual practices are not genetically founded ! Like any other practice it is a choice. The exact cause according to the current research is attributed to family of origin. To label homosexuality as worse than any other sin is a sin in it self. Lieing, stealing, coveting, lust are all common to any human being and are sins too. So; go easy on homosexuals as they are humans too requiring the love of Jesus Christ , like you and I do ! I am a Christian, by the way !

Not that I am aware of. And even if "faulty genes" were at work, would it matter? Children with down syndrome are just as wonderful as any other child.

It's either a mental disorder or a birth defect. If they weren't supposed to exist, they wouldn't. They have a place in God's plan, the same as anyone.

It has been discovered that there are homosexuals in the animal world as well. In the animal kingdom the "gay" ones act that way as way to feel protected by another group, perhaps they lost their other family members and are looking for another group. Maybe for them it's just a way of feeling safe.

it's not a disease, it's a challenge. someone who is a homo, is not, biblically speaking, supposed to exercise that tendency, in other words, have homosexual sex.
just b/c they don't reproduce normally doesn't mean that a scientist can't do the ol' test tube action for the mand produce a baby.

Well David....what about the many species of animals that practice homosexuality? Is having children the only reason for relationships? Are bigotry and ignorance dis-eases? You should re-think your position and come up with an opinion of your own...not what has been preached AT you and fed to you by a conservative, but cruel society.

It's not a disease any more than red hair is a disease. It's also not a choice any more than red hair is a choice (although you can pretend to have black hair just like you can pretend you are not gay).

Homosexuality is widespread throughout human cultures and throughout the animal kingdom. It does no one any harm. Leave them be.
