No, I do not agree with Bush.

He has so withdrawn from the reality that is even going on within the state that is supposed to be his home state that one wonders if he really lived here at all.

For the last week, ever night on the news there is talk of the roundup going on of the Mexican gangs that have brought their killing ways from Mexico to the streets of Texas towns. They just arrested a house filled with illegals all locked into a house living in filth, along with a stockpile of guns - all illegal. In the last few years we have had a man that was a mass murderer and rapist that rode on the trains thru out several southern states that they finally got - illegally here, a rapist that was wanted in Mexico that came over to carry the same acts in Texas. Standard police officers to Chief of Police have been killed in Texas by illegals. There was also recently that little bust of worth over a million at the border of drugs that was trying to come into the state just a few weeks ago.....

Then there are the hospital districts that are having to close down because the illegals as they are coming over the border (which most def. have no insurance) are using the hospitals with no intent at all of paying one dime on the bill, the over crowding of our schools and the burden that it has placed upon school districts, the problem of identity theft (I personally know of MANY that have had problems because of someone using another's Social Security card illegally), burden on the Welfare system, government housing, burdened Medicaid program - to name just a few of the problems.

And that just is just some of what has been happening in Texas, not even mentioning any other state!

Bush I believe has lost touch with reality when it comes to the real problems that are being faced within this country when it comes to those that knowingly break the immigration laws of this country.

I think President Bush is looking to pacify his opponents in Congress so he can get a bill to sign.
I believe his and many other Republicans position on domestic governmental policy issues and illegal immigration, more than Iraq, is what disgusted the Republican base votes and lost congress to the Democrats.

Yes, I do. It's one of the first things he's said with which I strongly agree. I think some of his even-tempered approach on this comes from living in Texas, where there's been very few problems with even the illegal immigrants.
