It doesn't matter.

The body does not work on a mass balance (calories in - calories out = gain/loss). Over the course of time (about 2 weeks), the "good" calories (good carbs, protein, vitamins, minerals) and the lack of "bad" calories (fats, bad carbs) will help you burn as long as you do cardio.

In simpler terms, the total calories of what you eat for the day should be less than the total calories you burn for the day. It doesn't matter when you get or burn the calories.

I've heard that it is a myth that you burn more fat by working out on an empty stomach, such as in the morning. I tried doing that for about a week, and I ended up weak halfway through the workout. It wasn't worth it to me even if you DID burn more fat, because I wasn't doing the exercises to their maximum potential. I drink a Carnation breakfast drink and eat a banana before I do anything else during the day.

yeah, if you are just looking to do cardio to shed off fat, then YES doing it on empty stomach will burn fat 300 % faster the on a loaded stomach. BUT, if you're looking to do weightlifting on an empty stomach, THAT'S a bad idea!

What you should do if you have time is do 30-45 mins cardio in morning on an empty stomach and THEN do weightlifting in the afternoon or evening after loading up with carbs or sugar to give you that extra energy.

Think about this. If you were a farmer in the late 1800's and had a field to plow what would you do.
1. Not eat breakfast, go get the mule and hook him up to the plow and start plowing. About the time you get to the 3rd row, you are really hungry. You have to stop, take the mule back to the barn and get some breakfast. After you finish eating you start over.
2. Get up and eat breakfast first. Go get the mule, hook him to the plow and work till lunch. Plowed half a field.

You decide what you would do. You can find some good information on exercise and diet on this site.

Never, ever start your day and work out on an empty stomach. Bad idea. Eat a healthy breakfast daily, allow about an hour or so before you work out. You need to feed your body so it can feed the muscles you are working out.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
