I'm a feminist, a Liberal, and a Democrat (usually)...but I think that making abortion legal cheapened life!

By making abortion illegal, you wil have cut the amount of doctors able to perform the procedure, but you wont eliminate the desire for those intent on doing it, to want to do it.
They could go to mexico, or try some home remedy,or go underground.
More than anything I think the best way to address abortion is to create a flexible doctrine that clearly spells out which circumstances would allow for an abortion, and then offer very stringent punishments for those that are using abortion as a means for simple birth control purposes.
Anyone should be able to differentiate there is a difference from soneone wanting an abortion after getting pregnant because she sleeps with anyone she meets at a club versus a woman who was raped by her uncle and could not possibly be asked to deal with carrying a baby in her womb for 9 months then have to live with the aftermath for the rest of her life?
Same would go for an innocent victim of any rape crime?
How can we as a people expect others to do what we would not want to do ourselves?
An so should it be with all our laws, that are so cut and dry.
There are many factors that we as humans fail to want to see when it comes to punishments of wrong doings, and its always been a matter of yes this, or choose no that.
When theres so many circumstances inbetween that are really justified.
Father kills the man who molested and tortured his 8 year old boy for 3 years.
Well, he deserved it, and no one could argue it wasnt deserving!
Same with abortion.
To many people are to stringent about proving it rightor wrong that they have lost all compassion for the victims.
So, illegal or legal isnt so easy as you make it sound.

Making it legal made it safer. When it was illegal there were more deaths from "home remedies", people doing them to others in unsanitary conditions, not to mention suicide. Desperate people will find a way.
I don't like seeing this procedure as a birth control means but I don't want to see it made illegal either.

Making abortion illegal would decrease its existence by limiting the number of practitioners and providers of that service. It also would inhibit those who do not wish to break the law from seeking an abortion.
The answer to your first question is, yes. The answer to your second question is, yes.

No, people will find ways to do it no matter what...making it legal will not increase it because people will do what they want when they want.
