Stepping onto the court when the game is taking place down at the other end and then freaking out when their own team steals the ball and quickly comes down to score, but yet get mad about it.

Taking up a third of a teams practice court before a game to practice their tumbles and what not and not caring if the other team is warmed up or not. Basketball takes skills, not everyone can go out and play...i know i can't.

*Snail....your answer has nothing to do with my question....and SOME cheerleaders are not athletic..like the ones that are at my former high school...they can not do anything...not tumbles or backflips....so some is sports...and others NOT.

Cheerleading isn't what it used to be. It has now devolved into a training cult for future pole dancers. And the old rules of nobody on the court during play should still be upheld. Before a game, cheerleaders should be warming up elsewhere if possible.

I was a cheerleader in high school, but we were never allowed to be on the court. If a ref saw one of us on the court while the game was in play, he would call that there were extra players and this would be a penalty for our team. we had about twelve inches to stand on while performing on the sidelines, and had a minute to perform a routine during half time (while the guys or girls were in the locker room).

If you feel as if the cheerleaders are doing something they shouldn't during a game, you should talk to the athletic director at your school or to the coaches of the teams.

Cheerleaders are there to try to pump up the crowd and motivate the team. I am not fully aware of the situation that is taking place at your school, but I think everyone gets sick of the cheerleading squad at one time in their life. I know once I was done with high school, I would be completely disgusted with the new cheerleaders and how awful they acted during games (sitting on the sidelines instead of cheering, talking with their friends and family, showing off parts of their anatomy that wasn't appropriate for a family activity). Good luck!
