while i think they do a good job, they cant be by your side at all times. but sometimes, taking the law into your own hands is your only option. say someone broke into your house to rob you and they were armed and you are woken up by this and you too are armed. at that point, there really isnt a choice as to whether or not to take the law into your own hands. your life is obviously in danger. if you call the police for help, by the time they get there, it may be too late. at that point theyll be trying to process a murder scene. while i live 3 miles from a police station, it is only town police and the town is so small you could blink and you will have missed it. my county doesnt have its own police force, there is only the county sherriff. and i no from experience, their response time is horrible. so it depends on where you live really

The police do their jobs as best they can. They are trained to do what they do very extensively. You and I both see things happen on the roadways that wish there was a cop there at that time, and there times when we've made mistakes and prayed a cop did not see it. To take the "law into our hands" calls for us being vigilantes. In the complex society we have today, this could be very disturbing, and would make it extremely difficult for the professionals to distinguish the difference between the good and bad guys.

OK...let's take a hard look at some facts. The current ratio of police to civilians in Chicago is roughly 1 per 1000. And you don't think they do their jobs huh? Let's propose to DOUBLE the number of police officers in Chicago from 16,000 to 32,000. The ratio is now 1 per 500. Therefore, we must double the amount of their budget. That will raise your taxes by 60%.
But, by your question, you think that's still no goo enough. Let's double it again. Ratio is now 1 per 125 and your taxes are now nearly 3 times what they were before?
Do you get it now?? There is a point when the taxpayer says no more and you get what you've got. Now if you'd like to personally have a one-to-one ratio, open up the phone book and look under "Private Security" I am sure that you won't mind paying, say $2000 a week for it.

enable's assume that the universal public of the police tension are sturdy electorate and experts. the undertaking the police tension has is that it attracts often times persons that are quite not qualified from the viewpoint of character and compassion for the electorate. Alleged potential breeds corruption. sturdy administration could attempt to be sure approximately "undesirable apples" and get them out. We under no circumstances could blindly have confidence any equipment, extraordinarily the judicial equipment. The judicial equipment in the USA suffers from severe deficiencies as all of us can journey and notice. it quite is a cancerous decease that may not be in a position to be cured (without revolution!!!) provided that an spectacular a lot of "our" elected politicians are the two attorneys or side with a corrupted legal equipment.

If you're so concerned about it go to the Police Academy and become a cop. There are almost 4 million people in Los Angeles and less than 10,000 cops. Do the math.

If you don't like the job their doing vote yes on the next millage so your local P.D. can put more cops on the street. If you got a ticket you have no one to blame but yourself.

they have a difficult job, a friend of my Dad's was an FBI agent and he quit because he said criminals have attorneys who get them off and those attorneys usually make a lot more money than your average assistant city prosecutor. Policemen are as good as their training so I'm sure cities who invest extensively in police evidence preservation solve cases and get more convictions that don't train the policemen properly.

I BELIEVE IF YOUR A CIVILIAN AND YOUR IN TROUBLE AND HAVE NO WAY OF CONTACTING THE POLICE. IT COULD BE A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS THAT WAY YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE LAW INTO YOUR OWN HANDS. THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE POLICE AREN'T DOING THEIR JOBS. THEY TOOK AN OATH TO PROTECT AND SERVE AND I'M SURE THEY DO THEIR BEST.
