Personally, I feel that everybody who does not accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior is a fool. What with all of the bible prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes, He is going to return for us very soon! I wonder what the news headlines are going to say when billions of people suddenly vanish from the Earth? Probably something like: Giant UFO's abduct billions of people and take them to another planet, or the leader of the new world order has vaporized all Christian's to punish them for telling the truth!
What a day that will be! And then wont they be totally astonished when we all return? How cool will that be?! And, contrary to what many non-believer may feel to be true, not every Christian is a one because of the influence of their parents. In fact, my parents had absolutely nothing to do with me becoming a believer. And besides, you cannot get into heaven based on someone else's beliefs. The decision is a personal one whether to believe or not to believe. You cannot ride on someone else's coat tails into heaven.
Going to church does not make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a car or going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger. There are many people sitting in the pews of a church that are on their way to hell. If we are saved, then we should change and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us along our journey. Saying we are a Christian and still being as mean as a snake 30 years later, probably means you aren't a Christian, but just a pew warmer. These people take the Lords name in vain.
REPENT! For the Kingdom of God is at hand! Turn from your wicked ways before it is too late. Seek the Lord while He may be found. There is coming a day when He will not be able to be found.

Watch the language!
As for understanding and knowledge, most of the so-called "FOOLS" here have read the Bible, as well as a number of other texts, both religious and secular. Bear in mind that the understanding of any subject comes from thorough research. One must look at multiple sources of information to come up with a reasonable conclusion.

In that case, its a good thing that I have knowledge and understanding of the christian religion, so therefore I have every right to be critical of it. I've read the Bible from cover to cover 3 times, I spent a good 14 years of my life in church, and I spent a great amount of time studying during my questioning period. I also spent a great amount of time praying, praying with all my heart and soul for answers, and I received none. Therefore, I feel I gained a fairly competent understanding of god as well over those twelve months that I prayed constantly with an open heart to him -- that he either doesn't exist or he just doesn't want everyone to stay faithful. This is just one small part of my path to atheism.
I know about these things, and that's WHY I am critical of them.

I think you will find that the Atheists on YA have a much better knowledge and understanding of religion than you give us credit for. Most of us have read the Bible, and have probably done a lot more research than you have.
Just because you capitalize "FOOLS" doesn't make it a fact.

Yes, I believe that Christian who have no understanding of Atheism (or Paganism or Islam or Hinduism or even Judaism if it comes down to it) should stop showing off their ignorance.
On the other hand Atheists (who, for the most part, were believers at one point in their lives) should feel free to be critical of those fools who still believe.

It could also be said that only a fool will claim to have knowledge of what cannot be known.

Many here have only the understanding of God that their parents have influenced them into believing. Which fools are you referring to?

Fools reject knowledge and are heretic's.They are to be rebuked sharply. Titus 1:10-16 We waste to much time on these heretic's and need not waste our precious time giving them anything."Give not that which is Holy unto dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you" Matthew 7:6
Thanks for providing a good question.

I wouldn't call anyone a fool, but people on this site sure are married to their own ideas.
