You all believe that pain, misforture, sickness, & the bad things that happen to humans are a result of expulsion from paradise. Whether by mans' own behavior, or Satan's influence, the fact is, prior to sin, people didn't have to contend with these things.

So, although god was pissed, he eventually calmed down and decided to give mankind a second chance through Jesus Christ. It's interesting that a perfect being can have a change of heart isn't it (ie. make a mistake?)

Anyway, knowing these "facts" for the last 2000 or so years, and being the intelligent beings that you are, can't you simply apologize to god, thank him for the Christ option, and explain that you'd rather just be with him straight away? If you all know sinning is wrong, and you all agree with the rules Christ set down, why must you endure a lifetime of testing & temptation?

While god might get a perverse thrill out of this process, most sane parents would accept a sincere apology from their child & move forward.

Your first paragraph is correct, generally speaking. Before the Fall of Adam, they lived in the Garden of Eden. There is one minor detail you did not write. No pain, no joy, no growth. Without the Fall, mankind would not develop.

Your second paragraph shows the misconceptions of a lot of people, both Christian and non-believer. God did not change his mind and develop a plan to give us a second chance. Let me give you a real simplified version of the Plan of Salvation.

Before the world was created, we lived with our Heavenly Father. We had progressed as much as possible in our spirit bodies. We accepted the plan to come to Earth and gain a body. And, we new the problems associated with the mortal life.

In order for us to return to our Heavenly Father, the plan was for Jesus Christ to conquer death and provide us the opportunity of forgiveness. Before Christ's resurection, dead people's spirits were separated from the body at the time of death. Now, everyone will rejoin the prefected bodies later after death. Based on our choices here will determine our rewards in "Heaven." Our rewards will be received with our prefected bodies united with our spirit.

We must "endure a lifetime of testing and temptation" to grow stronger. Life is like working out at the gym. We have to want to do it. It is tiring. You will be sore. You ain't going to get stronger if you don't exercise.

Our Heavenly Father does not "get a perverse thrill out of this process." He knows some people just won't return home. There are laws in Heaven just like there are laws of physics. You can't break the rules. Hence, a simple apology will not work.

I hope this has clarified this topic. Good luck!

He didn't change his mind he was mad at Adam and Eve not at there decedents. So he decided to make it possible for there offspring to regain what Adam and Eve had lost.

Well Adam and Eve's rebellion along with the lies the devil told about God lying brought up a question.
Are people better off governing themselves or would it be better if God governed them? Was he really holding back from them?
To answer this question God has had to allow people to govern themselves, try different forms of government, and advance technology. Over time they have proving they can not govern themselves and that they use technological advances to make more destructive weapons. God will stop this before they destroy themselves and when the question has been fully answered for the benefit of those who are to live under his kingdom.
Otherwise the question would remain. God also only interfered in human history to provide an escape route for mankind, but other then that he has allowed people to govern themselves without his interference.

I apologized, thanked Him for Christ and He gave me abundant life here on earth and eternal life in heaven. Isn't God great?

Print Ninja: I too have lost a good friend and have health problems. God is not just for the good things, but He is there helping people thru the bad things. I hope you don't blame God.

I do not think pain, misfortune, sickness and bad things are a result of expulsion from paradise, but rather the effect of Adam choosing to listen to Satan and choosing to follow his words rather than the words of God. God said if he took the fruit of the tree of knowledge, Adam would die. Adam is dead.

God was not pissed, but rather he implemented his plan that nobody should die. Sure, we die in our bodies, but our spirits live forever.

Now, you can choose your destiny. Will your spirit reside in Heaven or Hell?

You do not have to apologize, you only have to chose Jesus. Jesus has set things "straight".

There is only one unforgivable sin, the rest are erased from the record when you accept Jesus.

The choice is yours, God is a gentleman and will not force it upon you.

I count at least half-a-dozen misassumptions in your posting. And since you dont allow email, there is no possible way to discuss it. But I think the more interesting question is: Why does this bother YOU so much?....theBerean
