Your dog is an inside dog and should not be left outside period!!

This is not a dog with the fur or the stamina to be left outside, especially in cold weather. I really hope that this wasn't a serious question and your poor dog hasn't been left out in the cold. This is a form of animal abuse and should not be allowed to continue!!

Yes. If the dog is used to being either inside or outside and you change its environment routinely, its immune system may be negatively affected. However, depending on how cold it is, the age of the dog, and what its shelter is like, bringing the dog inside at night is probably a good idea. Since he's been kept outside, he'll need to be crated unless you want to clean up a mess on the floor each night.

Housing a double coated dog outdoors in winter is ok provided the dog is in a dry, covered, non drafty area with plenty of warm, dry bedding. Smooth, short coated dogs aren't designed for the cold. Contray to popular belief, all dogs aren't equipped to handle Iditarod conditions. Because of the pom in your doggie I can't say for sure what type coat he inherited but these type dogs are known as lap dogs...bred to be pampered, not for survival. I'd think he would be a lot more apt to get sick by staying outside. Bring him in and let him be the pampered little guy he was meant to be.

I doubt it can make him sick, but if it does, I say better sick than frozen to death. He is a mix of two small breeds that weren't meant for cold weather. Bring him inside for the winter or he could die. Keeping him outside in cold weather is abusive.

I think constantly changing it's room temperature heaps of times a dog from hot to cold could make him sick- Just like humans. but if it's just to eliminate then that's OK- it shouldn't take too long

i have a mini dach, and would never let it stay outside for very long!!! that's horrible. he is an indoor dog, and should never be left out! leave him inside, or find someone who can take care of it the proper way. he can get sick. be a freakin pet owner, not an abuser!
