Does the western society pay native people living in the Amazon to cut the trees down and clear land for development? Do companies actually send workers over there and cut the trees down? Are we paying the people living the Amazon to destroy their environment?

Who cuts down the Amazon? People who dont like to shop online! If Amazon opened up a local store, then unemplyed illegal workers would be out of work with benefits. Its the doubled edged chicken and egg off the wall paradigm.

As for the trees in South America, people dont cut down trees, machines do. Outlaw the machines! Machines need to be taxed and rehabilitated. Their tools. Dont blame the people. The people need money for food and paper. Please print this reponse so the people cutting down trees for paper can eat and have paper money.

the same people that destroyed the 70 percent of the "forest and wet lands" of the united states are destroying the rest of the worlds forest. These people are the money hungry self advancing greedy *** holes that are "advancing economical growth" in these other world countries. The love of money is the root of all evil.

yes they do, they rape the jungle bare to put in mines and such

hell no, it's cheaper to use locals, they are easier to short change

yes, you sure are, but lots of other countries do it too, not that that makes it right, and it's not their environment, it's everyone's

a lot of the cutting is local too, people who have no power or running water burn wood to cook and clean. crops in the jungle only last a year or two as the soil is so poor, so people have to move on regularly, leaving empty barren land behind
