Okay, My girlfriend, we were about to go on a date today to see a movie. Well, yesterday she told me she couldn't date me. I asked why, and she said "My parents won't accept a colored person." I said that's bull, and I dunno what to do because I really wanna date her I love her alot and we can like barely see each other because her parents wont' accept me dating her because I'm black. What should I do? I need ALOT of help here.

We've talked alot besides that and we have alot in common. She's nice, funny, smart, beautiful, all of that. We like the same things, we're both random at times, we both love lots of things.

While she's living under her parent's roof, she must respect their rules and wishes...even if they are "bull".
If you haven't dated her, how can you "love" her anyway? Doesn't sound like you know her well...why not talk to your parents about this issue and see if they have any suggestions...perhaps they had a similar situation when they were young or have views on it that you would find helpful.

Where are you from, that you call Black people colored. Leaving town is the first step because that term went out in the rest of the country about 40 years ago. The next step is leave her alone. If her parents don't like Black people and they raised her, some of that baggage had to have spilled out onto her (you just don't know it yet). Step three: try to find yourself a nice Black girl. There are some out there! Good Luck

well all i can say is dat sux. her parents need a good whip on the head. try and ask her if she cant try to introduce u ne ways... maybe her parents will be fine wit it after dey get to know u.
i jus cant believe some ppl r still like dat. everyone wer i like is a mix of black and white. so i really dont know what its like to have that prejudice.
jus talk to her and see iff theres any way for her to tell her parents.
im white and ma boyfriends black and my parents dont care.
but yet i do live in kind of a ghetto so this is normal.
i dont know. maybe if they met a decent black guy they wudnt be racist anymore. just try it.

TJ, Im sorry, even though it is 2007, unfortunately there is still a lot of racism out there. If the parents said its because you are a bad person, ok, but if they don't know you and it is just about color, then that is racism. It is their right to not allow there under the age of 18 daughter not to date whoever they say, doesn't make it right, but, she is their dependant. She can choose to disobey, but, I say, move on. It's not worth the drama. I know you really like her, but, it's just not worth the drama. Even the bible says to obey your mother and father, so maybe she feels convicted to follow their wishes....just move on TJ....Im sorry for this crazy world that in 2007 there is a lot of this still going on... If it is meant to be ebtween you two, then it will be,...maybe not now, but in time...

Tell her Neo Nazi parents that the American Civil War is over and they need to live in 2007. While you're at it, remind them that WHITE is a color too. Hehe. Or you could play their game and show up in tattered slave clothes then say, "YES, Mastuh!" to them a lot. These people are idiots. But I'm sure you know that.

Maybe your parents could invite her parents over for dinner so you could all get to know each other. If that doesn't work I would just sneak around until you were old enough to move out on your own.

Tell her that you are not a colored person, you are an African American man. Also that her parents are ignorant for judging you when they do not even know you. They should get to know you before they tell her who she can and can not date. In addition, tell her parents how you feel about her and they should not ler your color get in the way of your relationship with their daughter.

Her parents are not only stubborn, they're rude. There's not much anyone can tell you. The obvious solution would be to sneak around, but that doesn't look good if you encourage her lying to them and makes you look worse if they find out. Try to talk to her about it. See if she can convince them to meet you or something. People who have their heads buried don't usually take them out. Good luck!

I think in my opinion you should move on with your life
if she is not ready to support you then you should just leave and look for other Chic's
who knows there might be another beautiful diva waiting for u
so don't waste your time and effort cuz her parents wont accept you
move on and find other girls

if you truly love the girl and she loves you than it shouldnt matter what her parents say.maybe you should confront her parents or talk to her and get specfic details. it might be they dont want her dating anybody. have u been to her house? do they act strange or is it maybe her? that could ber her way of saying she doesnt want to be wit u and her not actually saying it. u need 2 ask yourself alot questions and her 2.
